Welcome home.  VSG is becoming much more mainstream on this site than even one year ago.  There is also a stand alone VSG board on OH that is very busy.

Go back to your book and read what it says about VSG.  You might also want to look at doctors sites in the US that specialize in VSG like Dr. Cirangle out of California.  Their plans are public and I found them helpful.

You can ask me any questions you like about VSG.  I had mine Dec 6, 2011 and am very happy with it.

Start drinking a protein drink every day.  You can spread it out throughout the day but getting the protein in helps you hydrate, heal and get well. I lived on one protein drink, warmed chicken broth, SF jello and water for the first month or so. You will love your sleeve and do well. Keep up the walking around your home or at least keep moving your legs as you sit.  Burns caloires and keeps blood flowing.

Welcome to the bench!  Hope your back pain has subsided - my back was killing me after I got home from laying around in the bed at the hospital. 

btw - I add a bit of vanila yogourt to my greek yogurt and find it adds just enough sweetness for now.

Finally!!  Congrats Deb.  Don't be too concerned about the change to a VSG.  The surgery is solid.  However, because it's somewhat less common in Ontario, you may have a challenge finding local "sleeve buddies" .  No matter, you will love your sleeve and the weight will fall off.  Just follow the VSG board and see what people are doing. 

I have to say that getting a VSG has changed my life.  It's simply unbelievable how different I feel and look.   I'm certain that you will experience that too.  However, understand that the first month or two can be difficult.  Head hunger is hard to manage, but that will pass.  You are on the loser's bench now.  Get ready for the ride of your life!
