I just wanted to say "Hi!" since I'm new around here. I just recently started talking with my doctor about bariatric surgery and I have an orientation set up for Dec 13/12 with the Bariatric Assessment and Treatment Centre in Windsor. I'm nervous, I'm nervous and I don't know what to expect or feel. Any tips/tricks or words of wisdom are welcome and helpful! I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for all of you soon!

Good luck to you!   My best tip is to just take each step as it comes, and use the time to learn as much as possible about the surgery and post-op lifestyle.  Ask lots of questions here, it's a great group of people!

Welcome to the forum.  Keep reading about other people`s experience.  You will learn ALOT here.  So much so that by the time you go to some of your appointments or education session, you may be bored since you have learned about it already.

Please also keep in mind that people will post asking about a problem they are currently experiencing.  There is another WHOLE GROUP OF OTHER PEOPLE that are not asking questions about a problem and are doing just fine.  Therefore, do not be put off by some problem or other.  Note what was said to that person in case you run up against it.

I started saving posts into Word documents to reference later....things like how to get WIFI at the hospital, which vitamins were people recommending, what to do about low iron, what to do about constipation or diaherria, what to bring to the hospital, etc.

Good luck on your journey.

Judy
