Scared
Hey everyone,
I haven't posted here in a while but thought I would now. I feel like I'm totally messing this up. I am almost 6 months post op, off all of my medications from my diabetes and high blood pressure and have lost 80 pounds. The problem is is that I have never dumped and never had a problem with any foods. I feel like I am grazing at times and my head is playing major games with me. I need some help I think and don't know where to start. How do I start at the beginning again and train myself from here. I haven't totally fallen off the wagon I still eat my protein some carb and veggies galore. I don't know.....just having a moment that I may be screwing this all up. I NEVER want to go back to where I was again!!!! :( feeling sad

you have taken the first step. do you track your intake? sounds like you just need to relax (based upon your results) and make a time to see a NUT from your bariatric ctr or email them for assistance? don't feel sad, you have come so far! Do you attend any support groups? Are the ones nearby you? Just some thoughts! Congrats on your success! ![]()
I track what I eat everyday and I'm within like 900 to 950 calories. The NUT said to stay within 850 but I do yoga three times a week and feel like my body needs more. I don't know if this is normal. All of the support groups are really far from me so it's hard to make it out. Maybe I should make the extra effort and see how other people are doing :) thanks for the support !

Rosie, I think that your calorie count is not unreasonable and if your exercising and tracking I think that you might be panicking needlessly. Give yourself a huge pat on the back and a big hug from me. Perhaps someone to talk to (a counselor perhaps) might help.

Welcome back to posting :)
So you have identified the issue - grazing at times. So what are some strategies to help you with this? Tracking your intake. Can you think of other things that may help? Are there trigger foods in your environment that you are snacking on? Snacking on veggies will not make you obese. Snacking on chips and dip or other not nutritionally sound foods will. Can you eliminate the food that you have been snacking on from your home or work?
At my office, there are chocolates and cookies, and other goodies left out for people to eat. I pass them by and tell myself that I can no longer eat it. It is on my food off limits list. I do not need to eat these foods to survive nutritionally.
Good luck in working these things through. You can do it, we believe in you.

Hi Rosie
You have been given some great advice here. I think taking this step and reaching out means you know what you are doing and are going in the right direction.
Keep that protein and water up.
Carbs can be evil............
Just because you can eat it doesn't mean you have to
You have come a long way. You are doing awesome
Keep up the good work, track your food and keep posting here
Hugs
