Happy Friday! Work got in my way of posting yesterday... but I did stay on track with food and managed to do some cycling indoors since it was pouring out.
QOTD: I really enjoy artsy things and when I was in school and college did a lot of painting and drawing. Soon after, I had kids the was a single mom for 19 years so needless to say adult crafts were put to the side in exchange for finger painting and school projects. I taught myself to crochet when the kids were young and would enjoy starting that again now that I have more spare time. That blanket looks cozy Meg so I'm guessing once winter hits and lil nugget is sleeping you can likely get back to it.. always fun to be working on one in the cold weather so it keeps you warm at the same time. I'll be waiting to see the finished project wrapped around the cutie!

Good morning :)
This morning we are going to an event where you get to paint a flower pot and then this afternoon we are taking puppy 2 back to the vet. He is having some gastro issues, which turned out to be basically food poisoning of unknown origin. Today he's getting a checkup to see how things are going with treatment.
QOTD: do you like painting, drawing, or any other artsy crafts? I enjoy them, but I don't like things that take a long time since I often don't get around to finishing them. I crochet and I have at least two blankets on the go right now. When my aunt (she taught me to crochet) was sick she gave me about 90% of her wool collection. It had several balls of this peachy coloured wool. I don't know why but I decided to make a bobble blanket with it. It's definitely not my favourite colour so I don't know why I chose that colour. Anyways, I bobbled all of the wool in her collection and then had to buy the closest matching wool I could find -- thank you Mary Maxim lol. But it is only maybe 60% finished at this point. Between the puppies and the little nugget I figure it will be a decade or two before I fini**** lol.

4. They require cancellations 2 days in advanced or else you are charged a $15 fee.
Although they told me the same thing, there have been a few times when I have cancelled or rescheduled on the day before or the day of an appointment, and so far I have never been charged a fee.
It seems that most people in this thread gave up after one or two visits. With that kind of patience, you can't expect to have much success in your weight loss journey.
Wharton is not a fast track to bariatric surgery. Once you make the decision to get that surgery, you will be put on a waiting list and can expect to wait about two years. There is no short cut.
I have been visiting the Upper Centennial location since June 2018, and have had nothing but good experiences. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful, answers all my questions, and no one has pressured me to take any medications or to seek surgery, nor have they been dismissive of me after I told them I will not be pursuing either of these paths. The doctor speaks with me for only about 5 minutes or so, because I have no health issues to speak of or questions to ask. Twice I have spoken with Dr. Wharton through Skype, and although he seems a bit abrupt at times, he has never been rude to me.
They do not tell you what to eat; rather they help you design your own meal plan. This is exactly what I needed, since it allowed me to develop a plan with minimal change to my habits. As a result I have been able to continue on the program much longer than I have on any other.
As far as success, I have lost 47 pounds in about 10 months. While this is surely more than most, I have also had more to lose than most, and still have a long way to go. But it is over 10% of my original body weight in under a year, so I am more than satisfied.
for those who don't know what Lynch is:
Lynch Syndrome is the most common type of hereditary colorectal and uterine cancer syndrome. Although Lynch Syndrome is primarily associated with colorectal and uterine cancers, it has also been associated with an increased risk of ovarian cancer and cancers of the stomach, small intestine, urinary tract, hepatobiliary tract, skin, and brain.
Good morning :)
The little nugget is nine months old so we are off to the doctor today. She will be measured again to see if she is gaining weight appropriately still -- very nerve wracking. Then DH has a doctor's appointment with a new family doctor -- he hasn't had one since he was a kid.
QOTD: so random -- we have a lot of movies filmed in town. One show I've seen filming is Designated Survivor. I got really excited when A) I realized what was filming and B) when I saw the episode that lined up with the filming. Would you find it interesting/exciting to see a show or movie being filmed near you?
Accountability: awesome. Finally. DH made chili for dinner and we skipped the bread. I think he is enjoying feeling good and eating better than we have been.
Post-op four years and two months.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - pepperettes and cheese
Lunch - leftover chili
Snack - Greek yogurt
Dinner - probably more chili
Snack - SF pudding
All water and vits.
Has anyone had WLS that has Lynch Syndrome? If so did you get the sleeve or the RNY?
Thanks WIP!! I'm working hard -- I keep telling DH to put away his snacks and stuff so I'm not tempted.
The physical/digital thing has been on my mind for a while. I like having both. But also I worry about losing our old photos if something happens. A row of townhouses across the road from us recently burned down and three families lost everything... I can't even imagine how devastating that would be.
Good morning. Wish I was sitting on the floor playing blocks with a baby ;) Sounds much more fun than piles of paperwork I'm behind on! I did squeeze in my walk last night after work but it was a bit nippy for sure.
QOTD: I have older albums which my kids and I love to pull out and look out. I try to make a habit of printing off pictures if we do a vacation together but should likely print off a few others that are on my phone just to have in an album. There is always that chance that you lose digital photos if something happens to your devices...I treasure an album of pictures and unfortunately think they are becoming something of the past.
