Topic: Did you call the clinic for appointments?

So my orientation was January 29th. I'm part of the online support groups for WLS in Ontario and Humber River specifically. I've asked around and I can't find a single person who had a December or January orientation who's gotten an appointment yet.

That being said, it seems that the general consensus for Humber is it takes about 3 months to hear back for appointments.

Even though it's only been two months, would you call the clinic and ask about appointments? (Although I'm pretty sure they will just blow me off when they hear my orientation was end of January).

If so, how often would you call at this point? Once a week? Once every two weeks?

I'm trying to be very proactive as I don't want to fall in between the cracks and get left behind.

Recently, I've seen many people with November orientations still waiting for appointments and then they called and got theirs scheduled right away and I don't want that to happen to me.

Topic: RE: What are you eating/doing this Friday?

Good morning everyone, I was up and at 'em this morning, outta the house a few minutes early which gave me time to cru**** at the gym. I pushed myself just passed 16 kms on the bike, which tipped it over 10 mile mark. Woot Woot!! Felt pretty good for that ..... the other day I stopped at 9 miles because of my time.

QOTD: I'm starting to tolerate more spice lately just depends on what it is. My favourite has become Franks Red Hot with equal parts butter for my chicken wings. When we go "Wing Night" at the legion I just ask for mine naked and take my own bowl of sauce. I look forward to those starting up again in May.

B - deli turkey rolls ups (3), HB egg, 1 old cheese stick

S - skyr and raspberries

L - tomato/cukes salad with greek dressing, piece of chicken from grocery store

S - beef stick and cheese (maybe)

D - either chicken sausages or leftover bacon wrapped meatloaf, haven't decided yet.

Have a good weekend!!

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

The weekend is finally here. The weather is supposed to be nice on Sunday so DH and I might take the convertible out to buy a coffee, lol.

QOTD:
What is your spice level tolerance? I can go hot, but not crazy hot. Love jalapenos, but hate Scotch Bonnets.

The eats today at 4 years 8 months post op are:

B. Rivers of decaf

L. First meal of the day will be leftover bunless burger from last night's dinner. I had wanted wings, but they were breaded so I gave it a miss.

D. Carnitas with guac, sour creme, salsa, hot peppers.

S. Hot cocoa before bed.

No totals because I can't figure out the leftovers

1 hour at the gym today.

Have a great weekend everyone.

A little one room schoolhouse turned into a cafe sounds perfect. Routines are important with little ones, but Thorbellina is such a champ, I know she will adjust.

Good afternoon :)

We are at my mom's house so we are totally off our routines... It has been very challenging.

This morning we went out touring and got some lunch at a little cafe which was an old converted one room schoolhouse. Then we drove around looking at the scenery. Apparently my winter boots are not very waterproof so I will have to glue them and seal them again before next year.

QOTD: I don't know if this applies, but I have rosacea and there is a gel the doctor gave me that works really well but I had to stop it for pregnancy and breastfeeding. I paired it with a face moisturizer and sunscreen. It was the best my face skin has ever been.

Post-op four years.

Breakfast - nut bar

Snack - banana

Lunch - beef soup, chicken panini

Snack - leftover soup, protein bar

Dinner - chili

Snack - unknown

All water and vits.

Good morning lovely menu Peeps. We are almost at the weekend. Today I am going back to the gym to get my ass handed to me again. Yesterday I didn't get my first meal of the day until 5pm, so no lunch for me yesterday. We will try that again today.

Tonight we are going out with friends to a pub for dinner. I have been craving wings so that will be my choice.

QOTD: We are advised to do all these things to stay beautiful and healthy. Exfoliate, drink ACV, Take Pre and Probiotics, Drink Lemon water, Omega 3's. I think there are not enough hours in the day to try all of the things that we are recommended to do. What things have you tried that you found made a noticeable difference in appearance, chronic pain, or health? Swimming helps with the pain in my back and leg. The water supports my torso and decompresses my spine, and because I swim in a hot pool, by leg muscles ease up and I have greater range of motion.

The eats today at 4 years 8 months post-op are:

B. Coffee, coffee, coffee

L. Scrambled eggs with cheese melted on top, bacon, 1/2 of a spicy Italian sausage, half of a small avocado and some fresh salsa

D. Big juicy jumbo wings with Dry Cajun Rub.

S. Hot cocoa before bed because I'm old.

The totals are: 988, carbs 23, fibre 8, fat 75, protein 59

1.5 hours at the gym

Have a great day everyone.

Looks like your menu is soft so that it doesn't hurt your mouth. Hope it feels better soon.

Good morning everyone. Well I didn't get posting at all yesterday since my dentist had a cancellation Monday afternoon and I went to have my one wisdom tooth pulled spur of the moment rather than wait until mid April when I was scheduled. Needless to say I wasn't doing too much eating.

QOTD: Hmmm I would have to say a good stew is my favorite crockpot food.... then chili is a close 2nd. I really don't have recipes for anything I do in the crockpot, I just throw in what my taste buds are shouting for and of course lots of spices. My mother was a by the book cook and didn't even have a spice rack so always comments that when I cook it tastes better than hers ;) Pulled pork is a great crockpot meal CC. Go for it!

My menu is boring since I have to do liquids and puree for a couple days.

B - protein shake

S- egg bite

L - cream of mushroom soup

S - SF pudding with powdered skim milk powder

D - either more soup or possibly canned chicken with some Swiss Chalet sauce

S - few swigs of protein shake

Topic: What are you eating/doing this Wednesday?

Good morning everyone. Late start for me today. DH is working from home today, which means I have to tiptoe around the house because he's on conference calls. Didn't end up going out last night because the fur baby wasn't feeling well.

Today I am going to the gym and then I have to make some calls. My workout at the gym yesterday has me sore all over. It's a good reminder to get back on track.

QOTD: Fav crockpot recipes please? Yesterday I bought a pork blade roast that is already to throw in the crockpot for carnitas. It came with the spice and everything for only $5. Gotta love the weekly meat sale. So I'm thinking pulled pork, with avocado, sour cream, and maybe some salsa on top.

The eats today at 4 years 8 months post-op are:

B. Coffee, coffee, coffee

L. First meal of the day. Scrambled egg with a little melted cheese, bacon, 1/2 of a spicy Italian sausage, small half of an avocado and fresh salsa.

D. Pho with shrimp, greens, shiritaki noodles. SF/LC French toast muffin with a few raspberries, a dollop of whipped cream

S. Hot cocoa before bed.

Today's totals: 1123, Carbs 27, Fibre 11, Fat 85, Prot. 65

1 hour at the gym

Have a great day everyone and remember to smile at a stranger.
