Ugh, I know how you feel. I'm already so impatient. I can't imagine waiting 3 more months for a call.

its weird because I've seen people with late November orientations get appointments already on the Facebook group! You should keep calling and get on their butts!

I think they just have so many people to go through... and I have no idea why it's taking 3 months to get a call back for a simple appointment. It's insane.

I've already had my sleep study by referral from my family doctor and thankfully I did it because I have moderate sleep apnea and require a CPAP. I am going for my follow up test Monday and then get my prescription.

I plan on going to see my doctor for the bone density scan and bloodwork. Also going to see if he can test me for H. Pylori.

I think maybe I will wait a month and start calling to follow up in March. I know it doesn't happen quicker than that and I'm just going to **** them off if I start calling regularly now.

That being said, when I called Monday one woman said they didn't have me on record... which gives me a reason to call back tomorrow just to see if that's actually true or maybe she just didn't look up my info right.

Topic: Slipped...

I'm 8 days into 3 weeks of Optifast pre-op, and I had a slip up. I ate a can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup. I feel so bad about it, but I just couldn't resist. I'm hoping I haven't ruined my hard work! ?

I also got my first three appts at Orientation.

My first appt was with the nurse. She gave me all the requisitions for the tests. I went home that day and booked them all. By the time I went back to see the Nutritionist, I'd had the bloodwork, ultrasound and sleep study done. By the time I saw the Social Worker I had completed the colonoscopy and the endoscopy.

So from June to September I got all the tests done and I was waiting on my appt to see the surgeon. I got a call in October and saw the Surgeon not long after.

I wonder if they are changing things. Hmmm

Maybe you should get a different type of mask. They have nose pillows that just sit under your nose. Would probably work better for you. I struggled with mine at the beginning , but now I can't sleep without it. Sending positive thoughts.

What kind of mask do you have? mine just goes to my nose and doesn't cover my face at all.

She's right to some extent, not everyone needs a sleep study, I know at TWH it was partially based on your neck circumference. I was lucky in that I already new I had sleep apnea and used a CPAP and all of the extra tests they wanted other than bloodwork I'd already had recently enough. At TWH I got my first 3 appointments and all the tests they wanted at the orientation, although the appointments were stretched over the next 6 months.

I asked my doctor a while back for a sleep study since I heard that is what holds people back the longest but she wouldn't give it to me because she said that there was no need for it. She said because I don't have any sleeping issues and because I don't snore that it would be a waste. I tried to pu**** but she was having none of it.

Just keep on top of it. Tell them you will take a cancellation.

You can get your family doctor to start your tests, i.e., full blood EVERYTHING, book a sleep study, ultrasound your abdomen and liver, endoscopy and colonoscopy.

If you get your Doctor to get that in motion then when you finally get there you will be ahead of the game.

Oh I know he does. And he told me I had to bring it with me to surgery. I had a surgery in September and I took it with me. But it wasn't on me when I woke up, the nurse put it on later but I was awake the whole time I had it on at the hospital. It just seems like they think I don't want to use it and I'm exaggerating. I wish I could just put it on and go to sleep. I already mentioned it to my family doctor last week and she said just keep trying and didn't prescribe any anxiety meds. Last 2 nights I took the melatonin and made me drowsy for a bit only and then fully awake I couldn't sleep. I will keep trying and hopefully I get over it.
