I do think getting used to small portions is a good thing HOWEVER if an extra bowl of broth or extra slices of cucumbers helps get you through it successfully, i sa go for it.

I agree too. I don't get any veggies on my diet; shakes, broth, sugar free jello. The last thing you want is for the surgical team to get in there and change their mind on the surgery. You have come too far for that and worked hard to get here - don't risk it! (Good luck with everything.)

Thank you! When I was speaking to the nurse at the sleep clinic she said I should get an automatic one so that the titration adjusts as I lose weight. I assume that will be more expensive than a regular CPAP. I have no insurance through work unfortunately. Only hope is if my husband (just got married in the 11th!) gets me on his benefit plan, but I don't know how long it would take for my coverage to kick in.
I was told I have to go back for another test and use the CPAP at the clinic and I'm excited to actually try it. I sleep like crap and have for a really long time!

Thank you! I don't believe I have any coverage at work because I am a contract worker and currently on mat leave.

I couldn't agree with Tracey more! We too were allowed veggies and all I had was broth and Optifast and my surgeon commented that he was able to see very well and could tell I followed the diet to a tee. My suggestion is that you follow the instructions...better safe than sorry.
I asked the CPAP company to give me a trial before I purchased so that I could decide what mask would work for me and they did. I received a trial for 2 months and then ended up not needing it as mine was mild. They did quote me about $350-450 after ohip paid depending on the mask I got. If you have insurance they may assist as well. Good luck!
I only had to pay for the mask, the rest was paid by OHIP, but the masks are $200 - 300.
If you have a healthcare plan at work, some have coverage for this kind of thing.
IMO it is worth it. I cant remember when I slept so well and actually felt rested.
- Good luck.
I would eat more then the amount they allowed. Some days I ate no vegetables some days I had a little extra. There was no issue.
I got the results from my sleep study that my family doctor referred me for. Turns out I have moderate sleep apnea and require a CPAP.
Does anyone know what the cost of these machines end up being after OHIP coverage?
I'm so glad I did this test early, so it didn't hold me back later in the process!

Volume is going to matter greatly moving forward so may as well get used to it. You are lucky you are allowed some veggies as most are allowed none. I would start following the rules now as it will just set you up to keep doing it when it truly matters even more.
