Hey Meggles,
I have a newbie question for you.. I also have milk for my 1st breakfast. Do you take your morning vitamins right after you are finished drinking the milk or do you wait 30 minutes after to take them.. I am so confused.
Thanks in advance!
Melissa
Good morning :)
Nothing much planned today. My mom and brother are visiting and I have a doctor's appointment. I did a bit of tidying this morning. Our kitchen is quite small and lacks pantry space so we store a lot of dry goods in our basement. It was such a disaster that I could never find anything so I would just get more at the store. I tidied it up and found a missing jar of pickles ;) lol.
QOTD: do you hoard food? Our freezer and pantry (such as it is) are jammed with food. I try to go through and use up random things every once in a while. I will pull out 2-3 things and challenge DH to make a meal to use them up -- he is a very good cook. It's like that TV show competition.

Wayne!! You have been through the ringer for sure and you are so strong and I'm so proud of you for getting through this horrible time with your brother's passing and your mom's dementia. Take lots of time for yourself when you can and I'm so glad to be part of your harem and the Coffee Club. I love your friendship and I'm so blessed to call you a friend. If you ever need an ear or shoulder - I'm here. You are doing great considering all the obstacles put in your way - I know good things are coming your way for sure. Good things happen to good people so you are due!
Good morning :)
We went away last week to a family cottage and visited my parents and grandparents. Definitely not a vacation, but nice to have a change of scenery and to see everyone. My brother moved down from there to my city, so it will be both nice and weird having him so close :) he used to live with us, but this feels very different.
Nothing much planned for today. I think the thunderstorm woke the little nugget up through the night so we are going to nap today ;) she was so good on our trip. Charming everyone.

Accountability: not good at the cottage. There were so many snacks and treats sitting on the counter every day. My least favourite part of going these days. I felt so gross by the time we left. I don't think I felt real hunger all week because we were constantly eating or snacking.
Breakfast - milk
Snack - PB and banana
Lunch - leftover chili
Snack - chicken and cheese
Dinner - leftover burgers
Snack - oat bar

Hi Waxwing for me I was 300 pounds when I started opti and they put me on it for four weeks. I think it goes by your weight rather than liver size.
For example, if you are 300 pounds they put you on for 3 - 4 weeks, 400 pounds, 4 weeks, 500 pounds, 5 weeks. A friend had the surgery too and she was just under 600 pounds and she was on opti for 6 weeks. Hope this helps.
Good morning all!
The plan tonight is that my friend meet me after work and we do a Costco run. I need a few of my regular stock up items plus this week they have the Combat Protein powder on sale and the Pure Protein bars too. I always grab a rotisserie chicken just for slicing and eating for the next couple of days too.... yum.
B - greek yogurt
S - egg bites
L - chicken skewers, salad
S - shrimp & seafood sauce
D - protein shake and maybe a sample or 2 at costco
S - turkey pepperettes

Don't beat yourself up about it but going forward its important that you 100% follow the diet. Looks like you have 5 days before surgery so make these days count and follow the plan. Good luck to you.
