Topic: Aetna approved me for surgery
Finally--Aetna approved me for surgery and the surgeon has set November 7 at 9:00 as the date. What a battle--but it finally happened.

I saw a commercial on TV about this product and it was priced at $14.99 plus shipping. I've found it on the internet and its $79 and up. Of course, when you WANT to see a commercial again, you don't. Otherwise, you'd see it so often you could quote it in your sleep. So, if anybody out there sees this commercial, would you jot downt the number and post it for me, please. Or maybe you've already jotted it down....maybe even ordered it. Just seemed like the PERFECT soluton for my fat body so that I could get more respoitioned and read comfortably or just relax. Hope to hear from somebody soon. Blessings, La Wanda

Hello Bubbles, Yes, I think that your understanding is correct. Sara also was right on target. Hope everything is going well for you and that you are happy with your choice to have surgery. Best Regards, Sharon

Topic: RE: My Weight Loss Goals for Today...
Hi Sara, Hope that everything is going well for you. I am still having a hard time staying "on course". It is hard to imagine that I am almost done losing weight. It is pretty hard for me to imagine. I have lost 10# so far and need to lose an additional 40# before surgery. I am continuing to go to the gym. I have started going for 15 minutes in the morning before work. I am also going during lunch about 3 days per week. Hopefully the weight will just keep slowly falling off. I am no longer walking while at work though. I am in the process of refinancing my house to pay for my upcoming tummy tuck surgery ($6,000) and to get a different vehicle. Once the money is sitting in my account waiting I hope that it will provide all of the motivation that I find myself lacking right now. I am seriously considering going on a liquid diet for the last 25 pounds. I want to lose 25 on my own first though. Anyway... I feel the pressure. Sure wish my therapist was back from maternity leave so that I could go talk and plan with her. She doesn't get bac****il December though. I guess in a sense it is right around the corner. Talk to you soon... Let me know how things are going for you! Best Regards... Sharon 340 then/196 now/156 goal

Hi Bubbles, I refer to my surgery as stomach stapling and I had the VBG. I just say that so people don't think its the gastric bypass and they seem to understand As far as wether or not its actually the truth I am not really sure. I would say its a pretty acurate description though! I think the pouch for the VBG is smaller than the old version of stomach stapling, but I am not really sure about that. Sorry I wish I could give you a definitive response. Hugs, Sara

Topic: Question please---
Is the VGB the one where there is a permanant ring around your stomach, does not get adjusted and no intestines were re-routed? I am curious as before I had met my husband, he had a stomach surgury, I believe he called it "stomach stapling" and I wondered if this is the forum related to his surgury. I had the lap band installed in June, and everything about the two seem to be the same other than my band is tightened gradually and there were no cuts on the stomach, and no staples. Thanks for youe help!!

Hi Sharon, I have been having trouble staying on track as well. I seem to be slipping into old habits and reaching for food when I am bored or sad. I try my best to stay busy, but its so hard and tomorrow is a bake sale at work. I just don't know how to stop myself from endulging when there are goodies around. I plan my meals and I still find a way to get off the path. You have always been an inspiration to me and I will make my own set of goals and see how it goes. I guess I have to remember that its up to m,e to make this work for me. No more excuses for me! Thanks for posting this Hugs, Sara

Topic: RE: Trouble with Staples?
you may need to have it done Laprascopticly. 4 insisions were they put camera and other things in u you do the surgery, as for the staples you may need to go with RNY or something that doesn't use staples... look up all the information u can on all of the different types of surgery there is before deciding on this one, and if this is the one that your GP thinks is good for you, talk to the surgeon about the problem with Staples, your doctor will have better information for you . Best of luck
