I did not want to use this board to complain but OH MY GOODNESS!!!!
My tummy really hurts :-(
Why does it hurt? I feel like I need to burp really good or do #2.
And I am soooooo thirsty..... I am trying to decide at what point do I call the doctor.

Then again---maybe I am being a big crybaby???? :-(

Whether constant or just episodic,
If your bowel sounds aren't melodic,
And you sometimes will howl
From a cramp, and cry foul,
What you need is an antispasmodic!

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

Sorry, I am so laughing at phred's comment. It is funny but true.

Sometimes if I drink water quickly I get a good burp. Otherwise, a tbsp of Mylanta is awesome! If I take after a meal, especially before bedtime, I usally have a bm by morning time.

I hope this helps!

I too would suggest Mylanta or Maalox. My doctor office recommended this for me.

Were you given any liquid pain meds?
Are you on any acid blocker?
Are you sipping water?  Or sucking on ice chips or popsicles?
Have you gone to the bathroom?

I was in HORRIBLE pain for 14 F*CKING days...but I just sipped my water and took my pain meds and walked and slept.

You probably still have trapped gas, and also your intensities can sometimes become paralyzed after anesthesia and when they start to come back to life it can be kind of painful. Have you gone to the bathroom yet? My advice is - walk, sip, walk, sip and if the pain gets too intense call your doctor!

I'm still having pain too...the gas is incredible and walking and GasX does not seem to help.  I have to burp everytime I sip anything.  I also have pain on my side, and I don't think it's my stomach...but the fact is they've been rummaging around in my insides and I think that soreness is normal.  I called the nurse yesterday and she said it was normal to have soreness for a few weeks, but if its really intense then I need to be checked out.  So far the pain and gas is just annoying for me.  I do hope you feel better soon!!
