Really having a hard time getting in protein!

How do you do it?

I did well when I was on liquids but now that I can eat real food I am struggling. Here is what my day consists of:
Greek yogurt 16gms
Soup 12-14gms
3-4oz of meat and a veggie -around 20 gms

No matter what I seem to be under my calorie goal of 600-700 and protein goals of 60-70. I am seriously considering hitting the protein shakes again because I feel like I am sucking at this. I finally bit the bullet and tried to make myself eat more so I would hit the protein goal but then I accidently went over the calorie/carb goals.

Anyway I am not beating myself up about since I generally don't get in enough calories but I am hoping to figure out a better balance. What do you guys suggest? Where should I add food and what foods on my current diet should I avoid?

PS: I am 6 weeks out:)

I love protein shakes so I can't really relate - but I absolutely had to have them for the first 6 months. Now I just drink cause I like them.

But - some of my protein snacks

- hard boiled eggs
- egg white salad
- deli meat/cheese
- string cheese, slices if cheese
- tuna snack packs
- beef jerkey, turkey sausage slices
- turkey pepperoni with some melted cheese on top
- egg white muffins
- protein snacks/foods like oatmeal, cereal from www.mybariatricpantry.com

Would adding whey protein powder to your soup help? One scoop of Beneprotein is 12 grams of protein. One scoop of Unjury (28 grams) is 24 grams of protein. Both are no carb, fat or sugar.

It seems like the unjury would make my vegetable soup really thick? Am I wrong?

I guess I enjoy my soup because it is easy on the sleeve but I have to eat 2 cups just to get in the 12-14 gms of protein. Maybe I could increase the liquid amount in the soup and add the unflavored protein.

adding the protein powder does thicken the soup, but I find it still easy on my sleeve.

I have a protein supplement of some kind (shake, hot coco) on most days because I can't get there with just food. My goal is 80gm per day.
My user name on MFP is the same as here you can friend me and look at my food diary to get ideas.
My best losses are when I reach that 80gms, but its hard.

I'm 7 weeks out and I have at least 1 shake a day.  There is no way I would hit 70 + grams a day without it.

I wouldn't shy away from shakes if that will help get your protein up.  An unjury shake made with skim plus milk is 35g -- that's about half of what you need right there!
