Ok... I go see my surgeon on the 15th.. But for now I'd like to hear what you guys think. Before surgery.. I was border line diabetic... Dr took me off all of my meds and said I would not need them anymore. So... When I am in the heat and it starts to get really hot.. I notice that I start feeling like I did before surgery when I would have too much sugar. I start to feel like I will pass out... See black spots and my body feels very heavy. But even when I go into the air condition it still takes a while to feel better. This weekend I did something I normally wouldn't do when I was bigger... I participated in the firefighter water fights for the 4th of july. I had to where all of the gear and get pounded by the water hose on the fire truck! By the was I feel like I got hit by an 18 wheeler lol! Anyway before I even put the suit on... I got that feeling on passing out... So I went stand in front of the fan... I wasn't even sweating! I drank some more water... But then someone gave me a powerade which I was hesitant because it has 35 carbs and I try to stay under 30 a day. Anyway I
Hadn't had anything yet to eat or drink besides water that day. Someone said I wasn't taking in enough carbs.. Does that make since?

You said, "hadn't had anything yet to eat or drink besides water that day."  You might have answered your own question. Your body must have fuel or it will shut you down.  I will admit, I think carbs are the work I of the devil.  I have a really hard time getting down to 30, I'm not suggesting you raise or lower  your calories or micronutrients in any particular amount, but you have to give your body the fuel if you expect it to function. Breakfast and an extra snack when increasing activity, might solve the problem.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply... It makes since. I'm sure it's one of two things... Either something with my blood sugar or not enough carbs. It also happens sometimes when I have had my protein shake in the morning... Which only has 2 carbs. We go in the boat and a little too much heat and I start to feel the same. I thought for sure it was something with my blood sugar... But now I'm starting to wonder if it's my diet

Do you have a glucometer? That would take the guessing out of the picture..test your sugar and you will know if that is the reason.

Its simple, cheap and my best friend in glucose monitoring! Especially if you were on meds before surgery.

Ok.. Will do! Thanks. Its so strange... Can I go from high blood sugar to low blood sugar? And if so.. What do I do about that?

Yes it is very possible to go from high to low. The solution is not to go either high or low but keep it stable in the normal range. Protein does that very well for me. Eating regularly, every X hours, keeping hydrated, walking..all that keeps blood sugar stable. You don't want to be spiking and tanking but you want to be just humming along steadily all day. For me that means some nuts and cheese before bed to keep things stable all night and a high protein breakfast, lots of water or tea...I am on a tea kick these days...and keeping up the protein input all day long. Carbs are not necessarily what helps with blood sugar stabilization.
