I have read several threads about support garments, read a few ads on different types. So now...I'm wanting PERSONAL experiance from those that wear them, have worn them and just what your thoughts on specific:
brands/types
Where you got them,
how they felt,
would you buy them again,
did they help?

Those kinds of things.

Tried Spanx once-couldn't stand the restriction and brought it back for a refund. I have just a panty style one that comes to mid-thigh that I wear occasionally with dress pants.Bought it at Walmart for $12. Don't really need it as a general rule, and I can't even stand wearing panty hose, so really don't like the feel of containment garments. But I am fortunate and don't have a lot of skin issues.

I also bought my girdle like panties thing at Walmart for less than $20 and I bought one in Black and one in Flesh tone so I'd have something to switch off and wear under lighter clothes in the summer. I bought a high waisted style that goes up to my bra area and its pretty good about not rolling down and helps smooth the middle fat roll appearance for me. I can only smooth over my pannus area so much but it does make nicer dress pants or a dress look smoother. Don't wear it on the weekends when I'm casual.

I have bought Flexees @ Kohls and the  Unbelievabra @ http://www.unbelievabra.com/.

The  Flexees did a great job on lower back, muffin top,  and abd lumps/bumps.  But they did nothing for the fat of the upper back/underarm. Maybe made this a ittle worse.  I only wear these when I have a top that goes down a little in the back. They were pretty comfortable. Cost around $30.

I love the Unbelievabra. It takes care of every lump/bump I have plus all the back fat because it comes up higher on the back and under the arm.  Very comforable.  I wear this most but need to wear the Flexees when I wear a shirt that has a deeper cut back because this comes up high in the back.  Expensive-$85.

Hope this helps.

I wear a tank-top style (top only) from Target called Assets.  I don't use the bottom/girdle type, but they carry those at Target also.  I really like this brand, and it's reasonable also.

Go to www.lipoinabox.com I order these for my daughter (she had lap-band) and she loves them.
She has been wearing them for about 5 years and lives in Savannah where it is hot and she says they are comfortable and breathable.  She is very picky and if they were uncomfortable would not wear them.  She wears them under everything.  There are many styles, she likes the one cut like a pantie but high in the waist.

I had them send samples to me for a support group meeting and my patients put them on and tried there best to make them roll down and they wouldn't.  They say they take 2 sizes off.

Take care,

Ginger

Last year before surgery I bought a Spanx from HSN (Home Shopping Network) and after reading the comments from other purchasers, I follwed their lead and bought a size 2x bigger than what my stats said I should buy. I was VERY pleased. I bought the 'just under the bra to mid thigh" style, which has a very convenient slash in the crotch so you don't have to take everything off just to pee. I think it was $38 and well worth it. Now, after surgery I think I will try either the Wal Mart or Targer store brands this time since it's more skin than flab at this point.
