Good morning Family and Friends! How are ya this morning? I am wonderful. I had kind of a rough nights sleep, but I feel GOOD!!  It's gonna be a great day!

I have my Boca Java Moca Java Coffee and the fireplace going. Keeping the chill broken. What a great day to walk in the presence of God. The coffee SURE IS GOOD!!!  What are you sippin on?

In stead of a challenge today, I have a question for ya! Would you rather be without TV for a year or give up your favorite food for 2 years?   Makes you think huh?  I am going to do this type of question for the next few weeks.  Just something different than my usual challenge.  Each day will be quite different!  LOL  I have some good ones lined up.

Y'all have a great day and enjoy yourselves!!

No T.V.  I thought coffee was off the list of things for WLS.  Did my NUT lie to me?

I've been drinking coffee since the day after surgery when I was still in the hospital!   It doesn't bother my tummy and I love it. I usually drink decaf because its the flavor i'm after, not the caffeine.

To answer the question, I'd keep the TV and get rid of the food!

Good morning, or i should say good night to me.. i'm half way around the world in japan. i will be starting Friday soon, but found your post interesting.
When my husband deployed a year ago, i turned off the cable, my son and i didn'****ch TV for 18 months. I worked all day and he was at school. I missed it at first and so did he but my family sent disney movies for him to watch.. So i go along just fine with out it. Now on to the next question, as a person who had WLS i am now giving up my favorite foods, no more candy, soda, or mac donalds. do i miss them yup at times i do. but do i miss those hundred pounds i have lost oh hell no i don't.. do i want them to come back nope, so i know i don't miss my favorite foods at all..

HIGHJACK!!! for just a sec!! hehe

Hello Annmarie!! I LOVED visiting Okanawa!! We were stationed in Misaw Japan for six years and were able to travel to 'the island' and see friends stationed there!! Enjoy it for me!! Take photos and post!! I miss Japan soo much!!

Back to the post!! hehe
I would totally give up the food and keep the t.v.!! Not just for shows, but for information and news. Though I suppose you can get that on the internet hmmm....yeah, I'd still give up the food!

I'm enjoying my pepperment tea with honey now. Don't do the coffee thing, other then the instant (totally sugar filled and fat filled) flavored coffees were my FAVE!! hehe So they are out now.

I love these posts!!

I was thinking how easy it would be for me to give up tv. Then I was thinking, I'd have to spend a lot of money going to baseball games to get my fix in. Harder decision than I thought but I think I'd still have to go with TV. When no one is home with me, I just never turn it on.

I love your posts. I like the challenges but I think I'm going to also like these thought provokers as well.

Coffee....I hate to say this but I may have to walk away from it for a while. I seem to absolutely crave it here lately and it was something that I never - I mean NEVER - touched prior to surgery. So far today I've had a cup of maxwell house at home , then a cup of 8 o'clock Hazelnut when I walked into the office (it smelled so GOOD) and then when that pot was gone one of the girls brewed a pot of a Trader Joe's blend and well I had to try it - YUM.

So now I'm sipping on a diet snapple lemon tea kick in an attempt to get my water in for the day.

As far as the question....I'm leaning towards the favorite food option. For the most part I've gone without for the past year (sweets) and it's been long enough that I've found substitutions. I don't know what sort of subs I could find for my TV time. I already read (alot) and love puzzles but there's something about  an hour of me time every now and again where I can just veg out and do nothing that is appealing.

Thanks for kicking my brain into gear this morning - it's making good use of the caffeine kick.

Good Morning!!!

I am sipping on Vienese roast - just plain ole plain ole today.  I think I would give up my favorite food.  I love the sports and cooking shows.  The cooking shows have become a challenge to me - how can I make the receipes WLS friendly.

Question for you - you have a lot of different types of coffee.....how do you store them so that they stay fresh?

Thanks

Debie
