Ok I've seen so many people on here talking about the greek yogurt well I finally got some and it's so yummy! I haven't had surgery yet looking to in the near future my aunt had it done 8 years ago and I was talking to her about the greek yogurt but I noticed it has a lot of sugar in it is this safe to eat for gastric bypass? I noticed they had 16 adn 22g of sugar per cup.

The plain varieties don't -- the sugar added ones do.  :)

After a gastic bypass, you might dump on that much sugar.  Even if you don't dump on it, eating that much sugar won't help you lose weight.  But if you buy the plain Greek yogurt, you should be good.  Some people put sugar free jam in it to flavor it.

Do you think it would be OK to put something like chocolate flavored protein powder in it? I don't know that I would like it plain - I know I don't like regular yogurt plain - but I've seen so many people raving about it that I'd like to try it at any rate.

Yeah, you can put flavored protein powder in it.  Some people I know also put sugar free pudding mix in it for flavor.

You may also want to try Carbmaster - it's a Kroger brand and has good protein numbers and low carbs.  Much cheaper than greek yogurt.  I really don't think the greek yogurt is all it's cracked up to be - you can bump up the cartbmaster with unflavored soy protein (Genisoy) and get about 20 grams of protein from that.  Just my thoughts.

Ok.. I may be extreme. But I LOVE either Trader Joe's or OIKOS Greek yogurt.. But it is PLAIN.. not flavored. It's like eating a tub of sour cream to me.

There's no fat.. 15g of protein and only 6 g of carbs.

You need to look if it is added sugar or the sugar from the milk.  I dont dump on the plain greek yogurt.
