I'm not sure because nut & I haven't really discussed calories yet, Just low fat, no sugar, get your protein in and portion control.

I can only speak for myself, but I eat about 850 cal on average, though my NUT wants it closer to 1000 cal. I think finding a NUT to work with you more effectively is a good idea. Good luck.

You have lost 60% of your excess weight and are doing fine. What do you think is wrong with what you're doing now?

I have only been eating 500 calories a day and from what I have read on here that is too little.

You're right, that's way too little. That's less than the Nazis allowed their prisoners in the labor camps. 1200 calories MIGHT suffice. So quit starving yourself and please get into therapy for your mental issues.

When I asked my nut how many calories she said that 500 was ok. Following the guidelines of my nut doesn't make me mental...maybe stupid...but not mental. I only realized that was too little calories while chating with folks on here. Like I said I am looking for a new nut, I was just asking what the daily recommended calorie intake is so I don't over or under do it!!

I have said to you on at least two previous occasions that I see indications in what you write here that you would benefit from therapy. That statement was not based on your 500 calorie a day intake. Your NUT is stupid, though, as most of them are.

Ok that makes sense, and I agree! I did get a counselor and am seeing her every other week. And I am looking for another nut as well. I am not sure where to look though. I am so scared of failing! I just want to get to goal (or below) and stay there forever! I don't want to be the one that doesn't lose it all or gains it back and I am trying to figure out what I need to do to get there and stay there. Hind sight is 20/20 but I don't think I picked the right program for me because I want a lot more interaction and coaching on what to do....so I come here. You folks seem to know more about our surgery and what we need than the docs do! I do really appreciate all the support and advise.
