Surgery on Monday and questioning the surgery.

Just popping back in to say if you aren't sure, DON'T DO IT. You can always postpone it for a few months (or whatever) while you do more research. Anything that will change your life forever is worth the extra research time as it's something you will have to live with for the rest of your life.

Like.

Exactly what Jackie said.  Exactly.  This is a life time change and requires life long follow up.  Only you know if you're nervous "just" because it's surgery, or if you really do need to go ahead and change to the sleeve.  It's one thing to be a little edgy - no one likes going under the knife for any reason; but if you truly have doubts about whether or not the RnY is right for you, please do wait until you are absolutely sure.

I'm very happy with my surgery, but no surgery is perfect for everyone.

Whatever you do, take care and please keep us posted. =)

Of course your surgeon recommends RNY, because that is what they do (and the band). They never send a paying customer to someone else.

Surgeons are not gods, and while we want a good cutter for whatever surgery we choose, only WE know what would be best for us, after we do our research. They don't know what is best for your lifestyle, and when you read here often enough, can be horrified at some of the terrible advice (nutritional too) they give to patients.

You know what's best for you, and if that surgeon can't do it, then go to one that does. If you feel unsure, wait and do some more research. You will know when you find the right fit.
