Cotton Mouth
I was extremely thirsty for the first month after surgery, to the point I'd wake up in the middle of the night (sometimes several times) desperate for a drink of water. I just kept drinking, my doc didn't push the "sip sip sip" thing, he just said don't GULP... so my drinking was pretty normal drinks and as often as I wanted/needed! I also ate soft ice like it was potato chips lol
Oh, I also would hold the ice or water in my mouth before swallowing... sounds gross, but it seemed to help some too

There are several dry mouth rinse or sprays out there. I was told to bring one to the hospital when I had surgery for the first day when I could not drink anything. It was called Biotene. I bought the spray and the rinse. They helped me a lot when I was first out. This problem was temporary for me. Hopefully it will go away soon for you too.
This is the product my DH used when he was recovering from cancer treatment.
