Think you might be from the same practice as me (I'm with Dr. Mo - the good lookin one)  If you have surgery at Inova Fair Oaks, you will be in the moving bed.  Not sure about Potomac and the others around the area.

Cool!

My dh had surgery at Potomac, but did not have a moving bed.  I'll be at Fair Oaks, though.  I love that hospital.  That's where I delivered my dd.    Not sure if I'll like the moving bed, though!

Your best bet is to get out after one day!  The first night didn't bother me because I was so knocked out on drugs.  I had to stay in an extra day (had a vicious migraine) so the second night was rougher and it was hard to sleep.

I was out of bed and walking less than an hour after I got out of recovery...they told me not to get up, I ignored them and walked down the hall...my recovery was easy after that.

I can't even remember much of that first day.  I remember getting up around 1am and walking and feeling good, but it was the next day I got ill but that was the migraine.  It was awful.  Did much better at home but I did need the losartin for a few days.

You can ask the nurse to change the therapy settings on most of those beds.
A bariatric bed just means one that fits a bariatric size. They have different kinds of bariatric beds depending on your needs. Hopefully after surgery you will be getting OUT of bed quickly!

Nurse Ratchett wouldn't change mine!  I asked but she said it couldn't be done.  I KNEW she was lyin'.

It wouldn't have been so bad but she ran off with my drugs and "forgot" to bring me more so I ended up with a massive migraine and stayed in an extra day.  It was the second night that was the killer for me.  Couldn't get out of there the second day fast enough.
