My birthday is next week and this will be my first birthday since my surgery.  I am looking for ideas for a healthy birthday treat.  If you know a delicious healthy treat please comment and let me know.

Thanks

sorry - but these are not so good IMO - even thout they label them Sugar free - they are loaded with sugar. Natural sugar and carbs. Absolutely the worst for anyone who is trying to lose weight.  The body does not care if it is natural - or added sugar-  Sugar is sugar.

Happy Birthday!

Life's short.  Eat a few bites of cake!

If you really want to avoid the real thing, maybe a nice fresh fruit salad?  Or I have a recipe for sugar free peanut butter pie-not low calorie, but very low sugar.  PM me if you'd like it.

Why a strawberry parfait of course.  Plain greek yogurt, sweetened to taste with splenda layered with luscious strawberries and topped with chopped walnuts.  It's my favorite treat, not saved for a special occasion.

Some good treats I've used for past cravings for sweets. I never tolerated artificial sweeteners well, so I use dates, coconut palm sugar, and organic agave to sweeten things without spiking blood sugar:

Protein-Packed Apple Hand Pies: http://neensnotes.com/2008/09/09/the-promised-pies/ (I'd replace the soy flour with brown rice flour if I had to do these over now.)

Chocolate-Date Cookie Bars: http://neensnotes.com/2009/08/25/hot-dates-with-chocolate-football-and-mystery-food/

Peach-berry Crumble: http://neensnotes.com/2010/06/08/something-sweet-for-sarah/

Spiced Nectarine Applesauce: http://neensnotes.com/2009/09/03/marriage-mystery-food-lucky-13-and-more/

Strawberry Jam Tart: http://neensnotes.com/2011/03/19/recipe-megapost-joes-birthday-party/ (Makes tons of slices! Use palm sugar or sucanat in place of the sugar as a better option.)

Some frozen strawberries
Some greek yogurt
Flavor shot of vanilla
Maybe a pinch of splenda/sweetener to taste if the barries are too tart

Blend with a hand blender - frosty treat! It's good with mixed berry blends.

Also check out this girlie too, she can't eat glueten, and these ones have the most protein in them
