Surgery on March 31st...should I have lost more than I have?

Hello,

I had roux en y on March 31st.  I'm feeling pretty good but am wondering if I should have lost more by now?  I've lost about 15 lbs since the surgery.  I feel like I'm doing good.  I do struggle to get in all of the protein and I'm probably averaging 35-40 oz of water a day.  Just checking in to see if I should be concerned or just give it time and chill out....? :)

Congratulations! I think you should give yourself a huge pat on the back!!

I don't know what your surgeon told you, but I've had to get my mind set that whatever I lose, however long it takes, it's pounds gone forever. If I lose a pound one week, that one pound gone. If I lose 5 lbs one week, that doesn't mean I'll lose 5 lbs every week, and that's ok.

Also, 2 lb/week weight loss is pretty much the average in the real world, right? And you know us ladies are going to have all kinds of hormonal issues too that play with our weight! :)

Maybe you could go back to whatever your pre-op, or post-op diet was... like protein shakes, etc... Maybe getting back to the basics will give you the little jump start you may feel you need. Your body is probably still adjusting to this new life!

(Disclaimer: I am only a week out from my VSG so I have NOOOO clue!!!hahahaha!!)

Best wishes!!
