How much medication do you really absorb after gastric bypass surgery!

There is no single number (e.g., that we absorb 40% or 60%).  Some meds we absorb exactly the same as we did before RNY; others don't absorb as well (especially time-release meds, because of the shorter intestine they pass through the rest of the intestine more quickly and there isn't enough time to absorb all of it).  

It depends on where in the intestinal tract the medication is designed to dissolve and be absorbed.  Some are designed to break down and be absorbed in the upper portion of the intestine while others need the environment of the lower intestine to break down.
