Weak after 10 weeks

I am around 10 weeks post op and I still have absolutely no energy. ITs not that I'm tired, I just can't  do anything.  I am very unsteady on my feet, even in the shower sometimes my legs feel like they're going to give out.  I can't stand for a long period of time. Also, water doesn't seem to down right. I feel icky after I drink, but I do get enough in.  A lot of foods make me feel that way too.  My GP was going to refer me to a gastroenterologist, but I think she forgot and now she's on vacation. I suffer everyday. I am losing way too fast and my hair is shedding big time. I be had to start ordering groceries on line, because it's too much to do myself.  I basically go to work, come home and that's it.  I can't do anything on weekend.  Please tell me that it will get better, I am starting to get depressed

A lot of what you're feeling seems like it could be dehydration.  Are you able to drink things other than water?  Different temperatures?  Different flavors?  Have you called your surgeon?

I'm with the lady who posted above.

Call your surgeon. It sounds like your electrolytes are out of whack and your body isn't getting what it needs..

I had the surgery in Mexico and When I contacted him he didn't really give me an answer. I love water so I will try to drink more,  I hope that's all it is., although I want to know why the water doesn't go down right.  Maybe I should drink Gatorade if it is electrolytes.  I'm worried that once my doctor refers me it will take months to get in like most specialists.   Thanks for your advice

I feel the same way and I'm about 9 weeks out.  Eating is something I HAVE to do, not something i want to do.  Try room temp water, it seems to help me. I'm still mostly on soft or liquids because solid food is really hard for me.  My doc just says some people are like that and it takes them months to feel comfortable with their new stomach.

I hope it gets better for you!

I agree I would rather not eat, and there's no way I can eat 6 meals a day. Did you get bloodwork done with no concerns?  I am worried that I will never get my energy back.  Are you weak like me or is it just the eating.  Has it gotten any better for you?  It almost seems to have gotten worse for me. Also, My heart rate is really fast and sometimes flutters.

Thank you for replying, I needed to talk to someone who is going through the same thing.  I can't even discuss it with friends or family because they don't know.

Read my post about spending a week in ICU.  Things were bad for me, my blood levels were so far off they caused heart damage and some life threatening arrhythmias.  If you are feeling fluttering, I think I would head to the ER.  If I hadn't gone, I might not be here right now.  :(

I went to the doc about my heart and I had an ecg and it was normal.  Ive had some palpitations last year before the surgery and I had an ecg done then and everything was normal. I will look at your post

Who is supposed to be doing your follow up?

You don't mention what surgery you had.  are you taking your vitamins?

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

I had vertical sleeve, there is no follow-up because the surgeons are in Mexico, so you have to see your GP. I am definitely taking the vitamins daily
