Insurance mistake, You think??

Got my approval letter from my insurance and it says Authorization valid from: 12/01/2014 ,Authorization valid to 12/03/2014. Two days?? Anyone ever heard of this? My surgery date is Jan. 9, 2015. Thanks everyone

Mine said that too. I talked to MD office and was told this is normal. The office actually communicated with them right after surgery to give the exact dates, procedures and anticipated discharge date which was 5 days and not the two days they authorized. All covered.

I would check with your MD office and insurance for your own protection.

It is probably their way of (trying to) indicate that a two day hospital stay has been pre-approved, NOT that the surgical authorization itself is only good for two days.

My doctor just picked a random day to get the approval.  Once we got approval, we picked a date and they called and got authorization updated.  No problem.  This is normal.  Mine was only approved for one day but doctor sad that is normal also.  They just call after surgery to get date updated.
