Feeling this total setback

I am scheduled for surgery in 4 days....that's right 4 days. Well turns out I will not be going through with it; even after my pre-op and everything is a green light.  My husband lost his job and we need the money I paid for surgery. It's completely devastating. I keep smiling and tell him it's alright but I hate that I keep getting so close to being healthy and starting this journey but I keep getting pushed down. I don't know if this is a sign telling me not to do it. I am just so sick of having to put everything in this world above my health and my own life. When will this stop being so damn hard.

I'm sorry to hear that. Are you able to get Cobra or sign up for Medicaid? I wish you the best of luck with everything.

Unfortunately my insurance wasn't covering it anyway so we were cash patients. Even if I signed up for medicaid the day it happened, it wouldn't have gone through before surgery date. I am glad I get my money back but it would almost be easier if I wasn't.

I don't know what state you live in,  but I know in PA that Medicaid can be applied up to 90 days retro. So even if you applied after surgery you may be able to have it covered. No guarantee of course. Good luck with whichever path you take.

That it so tough! Sorry to hear that. I would suggest Cobra or applying for Medicaid. Good luck!

I am so  sorry for you and your husband.  This must be incredibly defeating.  Hoping for a new job with amazing insurance for you both.
