I had RNY Dec. 15 Months ago.  I am stuck at 100 lb weight loss.

I have been here for 3 months.  I go to the gym at least four days a week and do a minimum of 60 minutes on the treadmill with an incline 3.8mph and sometimes, if I feel good enough-slip some runs in there.

I do resistance/weights through the circuit-two days a week.  My questions is, what else can I be doing to get my weight loss moving again as far as exercise goes?  I have begun tracking my calories and I am around 1,000 per day.

I know I am not getting the required amount of water intake daily-do you think that is inhibiting?

I spoke with my nutritionist and my goal weight is between 135-165.  I am 5'5" and started at 290-268 day of surgery.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ;)

I would suggest time is what you need. Time is the only way to go about this correctly. Think of what we're asking of our bodies to go through. First, being big, then trauma to your intestines, then weight loss is enough to allow yourself some time.

You cannot exercise enough to lose excess calories taken in. It's a bad precedent to set for yourself. And you need about a minimum of 100 oz. of water a day. If you're working out that much, and breathing alot, that's how alot of the weight will leave you. From your lungs and kidneys.

Water is the key!

Is your strength training specifically designed to replace the 25+ pounds of muscle mass you lost? (WLS people lose about 25% of their weight as muscle mass.)  If you do not replace that muscle mass, it will be difficult to get to one's goal weight.

That means progressive, heavier weights, usually with a trainer.  I am not sure that your circuit training is building muscle mass.

Also 1000 cal per day is a maintenance level for many of us - 600-800 to loose, 1000-1200 to maintain(if that, according to my Nutritionalist).

Also, it is important to be active throughout the day, and just those few hours on the treadmill are not enough.  You may be very active, I am just throwing out ideas for you.

There is no other exercise you can do to lose weight. The only way you can lose more weight is eat fewer calories.

Grim is right, need to change up the eating piece. Getting in the fluids helps too. I did dexascan bodyfat testing done - you can read about it on my OH blog- and that really helped me with setting a goal weight and it was higher than I expected.
