Me! And I never found anyone else, so it's sort of exciting :) My doctors were pretty much clueless - I saw many.

So first you should rule out Wilson's Disease - I did this with my optometrist who checked for Kayser-Fleischer rings.

If you have any copper in your life, remove it and retest in 3-6 months. Copper cookware, copper IUD, copper in your vitamins. It's hard to find a copper free multivitamin. I think this is the one I used.

Meanwhile, have the people in your household get their copper tested to see if it's environmental.

Have some people you're closely blood related to get tested to see if it's genetic - parents, siblings, children.

Those are all the things I did that my doctors recommended and nothing was found.

Then, after doing my own research, I stopped using hormonal birth control - the pill in my case.

I got retested 3-6 months after stopping it and, voila, my copper was in normal range.

Thank you Gwen, I started looking into things yesterday when my doctor called and said my level is 243! I was 149 in May and cannot figure out what has changed

I will check everything in the house just in case, my vitamins have no copper in them but I did started taking a combo of potassium, magnesium & calcium just about a month ago, I also take lots of iron because if I don't I have to get infusions yearly and this is the first time my ferritin comes back at a decent number of 14 so my doctor said no infusions this year, I'm puzzled and confused

today I have an eye doctor appointment and will see what he says

thank you for the suggestions I will do everything you said I need to find out what's going on.

Good luck! My investigation was super frustrating. I saw my PCP, my optometrist, a hematologist, and an endocrinologist and they were all at a loss. :/

Hi Ladies,

I had not heard of this so I am glad you asked and found someone that has! Gwen knows her stuff so she can be a great help to you. Curiosity got the better of me and did a search on the main forum and only found a couple of other threads talking about it. Here is the link.
