I recommend that you talk to your orthopedist and pursue physical therapy. Exercises to strengthen your core should help with the pain.

I have a back problem and as I was losing weight, I had days my back hurt more than even before the WLS. Then I realized that as I was losing weight, my body structure was shifting, and my center of gravity was changing. I needed a good few sessions with a chiropractor to help my back aligned as it is supposed to.

Just be careful, some chiropractor, if they are not skilled, or really are familiar with the issues you have, may hurt you ore than the would help you.

If in doubt - look for someone who is highly recommended, someone who, IMO, would not try to sell you long term sessions commitment during the first or even just a few visit, and he/she would not try to push extra supplements and treatments.

Seeing a doc, and going into physical therapy may be a good idea.

Physical therapy is amazing if you do it. :)

Ironically I have been having the same issue. I was also born with a curvature but my parents were afraid a back brace would stigmatize me as a child. I am down almost 50 pounds and off some serious meds, so like you I don't want to fall prey to getting back in that habit. Mine has been about 4 weeks now since it started.

I have been doing yoga for mine and it seems to help but late in the day it returns. I even asked my counselor this week if it could be psychosomatic?!? I think a big part is I am doing WAY more than I was pre - op.

Thanks for the question & thanks to Gwen for her suggestion! Keep us posted I hope the PT helps.
