Driving

How long did you wait until driving? I was told at least 2 weeks, just seeing if anyone drove sooner or later and was it uncomfortable to turn your body? On my way home from surgery I found the seat belt to be restrictive, I hope that doesn't last long. I just hate having to rely on others.

I had surgery on Tuesday, came home on Thursday, and was driving on Saturday. As long as you are off of pain pills, you should be able to drive. The seat belt did not bother me. I went back to work the next Monday.

I think it was about a week. I never took any of the pain killers that they sent me home with (I never really had any pain from the surgery), so whatever they gave me in the hospital was long out of my system before I started driving again.

I took no narcotics after day of surgery, so I drove the day after I came home.

I had children to care for, including an 11 month old and my other son had daily golf lessons so ... off I went!

The general rule is no narcotics for 24 hours

I don't remember any issues with the seat belt or being able to look Around. I had surgery on Wednesday, home Thursday, drove Friday.

Surgery Monday and drove on Thursday evening and Friday morning. Feeling confident about driving, was nervous though because I dont want an accident. Thanks for the responses, I only took 1 pain pill when I came home.

Unless someone else on this board is a medical doctor, please follow your surgeon's instructions. You had MAJOR surgery. Let yourself heal. My surgeon told me I couldn't drive for two weeks. I didn't drive for two weeks.
