Thanks for reading and replying. Remember, God's grace is sufficient for whatever comes your way, and all His promises are "yes and amen in Christ."

I will certainly be praying. I question the wisdom of the doctor releasing your son to play football, after brain surgery (even if it had been 2 years), but that's neither here nor there. I am amazed at the maturity level of your son, to recognize that his health is not worth jeopardizing for a sport. It may be that the neck pain he experienced was the Lord's way of telling him that he shouldn't be playing that rough sport (and I like FB), perhaps forseeing a problem in the future. I am praying and pleading the Blood of Jesus over your son. Keep us posted, please.
Blessings,
Mary

hello to all

my son is 16 and had to have brain surgery 2 years ago. he was released to go back to football this year, well he had his first practice last sat,   i picked him up from practice and he was having some strange neck pain that he had not had before, so he decided not to play football anymore. he says that he would rather be able to walk than play football.  he had an MRI done on fri this week to see if anyhting is wrong, keep him in your prayers please. we know that God is in control all the time.

have a blessed day

Topic: RE: Who Am I? I am free from condemnation
Hi, Trish.
Satan, while he knows we are free from condemnation, tries to get us to believe we are not. Of course, there is a difference between condemnation and conviction. Satan brings condemnation to the believer for the purpose of drawing him/her down, down, down. The Holy Spirit brings conviction, to nudge each person to the Cross, each believer to reconciliation.
If we, as believers, are indulging in sin, we play into Satan's hands. God's Grace, after salvation, is meant to encourage us not to sin, not excuse our sin.
I, too, allowed the enemy to bring condemnation into my mind. Finally, I got revelation on who I am in Christ, so Satan is less successful at using that weapon against me. There are times, though, that he is successful...for a time. This is why it's so important to be in the Word and in prayer daily. If not, we get a crack in our Armor.
Have a great day, and thanks for posting the next truth.
Blessings,
Mary

Romans 8:1-2

I am free from condemnation.

I love these verses.  1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,a]" class="footnote">[a]" class="footnote">aa]" class="footnote">] 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

I lived in shame and guilt for too long, even after accepting the Lord, because I could not grasp the depth of these verses.  Time and time again, I beat myself up for my past, not only what I did before my salvation, but things I have done as a child of His.  Yet, His Word is Truth.  HE says I am free from condemnation.

Too many of our brothers and sisters attend churches that are critical and condemning.  Legalism and pet sins to judge are still rampant in many bodies of Christ.  I praise the Lord that I attend a church where we celebrate this truth, and are encouraged to live out our lives in obedience.

Have a great weekend.

Topic: Flashback Friday Devotion #32 [Abiding]
Hi, Everyone.
Thank you for your prayers for a safe trip to and from Oklahoma yesterday. My husband, grandson, and I had a good day away. I was disappointed to see that I was up a few pounds, when I weighed in at my 9-month post-op appointment, but I went away with a plan of attack. As far as my labs, my thyroid is acting up and my Vit. D level is on the low side, so I'm taking 2 new pills. As I take them, I will thank the Lord that He is my Healer! :)
Today's devotion is from my personal journal dated May 10, 2007. As always, I love to hear from each of you. Let me know how God speaks to you today, and please pray for those having surgery today.

Flashback Friday Devotion #32 [Abiding]

I awoke this morning singing the old hymn Abide With Me, only I always change it to Abide With Thee, and I adjust some of the words. The reason is that I know God is willing to abide with me. It is I who must decide to abide with Him. "Abide with Thee, fast falls the eventide/ The darkness deepens, Lord, with Thee I abide/ When other helpers fail and comforts flee/ Help of the Helpless, Lord, I abide with Thee."  I knew the topic for today was "abiding."
When I read or hear the word "abide," I immediately think of John chapter fifteen. I especially like verses 4-11, "Abide in Me...; he who abides in Me and I in him/her, he/she bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing... If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit...; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love;... These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full."
Truly stopping sinful habits (such as overeating) requires ongoing intimacy with God. Enjoying Jesus Christ Himself must replace the habit of overeating.
If I remain in Jesus, my soul is nourished, I am fed, I grow, and I have true life. The Fruit of the Spirit, including the quality of self-control, proceeds from that. Any other attempt to bear fruit will be from my self and the flesh.
Abiding in the love of Jesus makes my joy complete. If my joy in Jesus is complete, I will not have to look for it anywhere else, and my slavery to food addiction is broken.
Abiding in Christ means to treasure Him as my greatest joy, throughout my day. It means beginning my day in prayer and in His Word, and then communing with Him as I go about my day.
Any time I begin distancing myself from Christ, I will fall and that fall will manifest itself in overeating. I know that now. I must remain intimate with Him, enjoying fellowship with my Savior, moment by moment. The key to ongoing victory and fruitfulness is abiding.

Today, read the 15th chapter of John, the whole chapter. Prayerfully consider how well you are abiding in Christ. Without self-condemnation, take stock of how much fruit you are bearing for Christ, in your body and in your dealings with others. If anything is lacking, spend more time in prayer and in God's Word. Watch and listen to this video of a man playing "Abide With Me" on a pipe organ he made. I invite you to use the words written above, and sing as he plays.

Topic: Thursday Coffee Talk
Good Thursday morning everyone!  I'm up and at 'em this morning.  Had my sleep study last night and didn't sleep too good with all those wires connected to my head.  I imagine I looked like an electrical freak.  LOL  A nightmare in myself.  Lucy did get to come by and see me last night before lights out, but I'm glad she didn't see me with all those wires.  HAHA!

Our challenge for today is to "think".  Think before we act.  Think before we say.  Think before we DO!  I know that doing is the same as acting in itself.  If we will think before we do something, act in a way, or say something that will hurt, we will save ourselves and others a lot of pain.  We so easily get ourselves in trouble by saying and doing before we think.  Boy!  Am I guilty of this one!  I'm having to eat my words as I type this today.  May we all....always...THINK BEFORE WE SAY OR/AND "DO"!

So, what cha sippin' on this morning?  I'm enjoying some awesome Millstone Chocolate Velvet coffee before going to class today.  Sure is good too.  Gotta love it.  Only thing missing is you, my friends!

Have a wonderful and blessed Thursday as WE think!!!

For every Goliath, there is a Stone! His name is Jesus!"
