Race Pet Peeve.

I hate it when I see a top 10 runner running the course backward cheering people on.  I usually see then around the 2.5 mile mark and want to punch them.  I don't usually see it as a kind thing but as a dick thing.  Sort of a showing people up.

The winner of today's race was about 100 yards from the finish cheering people on and I really wanted to kick that skinny nerds ass.  The only reason he was doing it was that a local news crew was interviewing him.  Not in a million years would that dick cheer on a stranger without the camera crew being there.

Sorry but I am feeling a bit negative today and figured I would tell everyone what I don't like about races.

While I'm at it - If you have pizza at the finish one year, you have set the bar!  Can't go back to apples and peaches the next year.  California Pizza Kitchen no less!!!  ;)

Okay - time for me to go beause I could go on...

did I tell you that I was the first person to NOT get a shirt.  It would have ended up in the goodwill bag in a year but still...

If you are going to cheer. stay at the finish line and cheer.  Don't head back out on the course.
I have seen people heading back out for a second lap of the 5k course as a cool down while I am still trying to finish the first time areound.  I agree that is very irritating.

However, I do like it when the pros come back out to cheer and greet at the finish line.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!

Yeah, that is aggravating.

My IMCDA finisher's shirt was a medium. :)   I wear a XL.   It fits me like a compression shirt.  Heh.

Well,...at least you didn't let it ruin your normally cheery disposition,.......
