I learned my lesson today
Lesson learned is to stick to your training plan.
As I have posted before my training plan is based on 1/10th mile increments. I startes just walking then progressed to run 1/10th then wal****il I could run. The cycle has continued in the manner of:
Walk 1/10th run 1/10th
walk 1/10th run 2/10th
walk 1/10th run 3/10th
so today was supposed to continue on the walk 1/10th run 3/10th, but after 3/10th I still felt pretty good so I said I will keep running, .5 miles I still felt pretty good so I kept running, next thing I know I have run a full mile, woohooo good for me. After the first mile I said ok I need to walk so I walked a 1/10th and then ran another mile, I was still feeling pretty good at this point. It wasn't until like almost mile 3 that it really set in that I had made a mistake, my hips were sore like never before and my muscles burned the rest of my run was probably the most painful run I have done. Knees and ankles are fine it is more hips and muscles that hurt.
So Friday's run will be following my schedule no matter how good I feel. I felt good so I figured I would push a bit farther. Probably wouldn't have been as bad on a tradmill as I could have just gotten off but on a trail or street however far you go out you have to come back.
