good for you Trish!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Topic: RE: Motrin/Advil
I have taken prescription strength Ibuprofen occassionally, but only for a short amount of time. I also would take an antacid/stomach med while taking it to buffer the effects on the pouch. I have had extreme arthritis pain, and also have had ulcers. It's a crap shoot.
Be sure to drink tons of water while going through this time. Also, watch your salt intake.

Trish

Hey Stranger....
I'm going through some pretty bad things so I popped over to remind me that even I have things to be grateful for.
Thanks! :-)

Keep going to meetings. I have been in AA for over 19 years, and was able to put together two decent stretches between drinks, once over 8 years, and once over 6 years. This past 18 months have been awful, because I have tried and failed many times to get more than 3 months. I am in outpatient treatment, since October.
Thanks for the encouragement. I am grateful to have the 60 days.
Hugs,
Trish

WAY TO GO PATRICIA!!!!!!
60 days is a big deal....recognizing that sneaking ******* "addiction" that live in our heads, is even more of an accomplishment. Keep learning and remember "To Thine Own Self Be True!"
Congrats! Peace~ Eileen
PS I am 18 years with out a drink but feel like a newbie once again as it has only been 6 months since I put down the food addiction. This one is a toughie!

Topic: 60 days of sobriety
I went to my AA meeting this morning and picked up my 2 month coin. I have 60 days of sobriety yesterday. I had it in March, but messed things up going to the ER in March, and getting pain meds when I was not really in pain. I was hooked to them, after some surgery I had in February.
Thought I would share.

05/22 REFLECTION FOR THE DAY
When I first listened to people in The Program talking freely and honestly about themselves, I was stunned. Their stories of their own addictive escapades, of their own secret fears, and of their own gnawing loneliness were literally mind-blowing for me. I discovered -- and hardly dared believe it at first -- that I'm not alone. I'm not all that different from eveybody else and, in fact, we're all very much the same. I began to sense that I do belong somewhere, and my loneliness began to leave me. DO I TRY TO GIVE TO OTHERS WHAT HAS BEEN GIVEN FREELY TO ME?
TODAY I PRAY
May I begin to see, as the life stories of my friends in The Program unfold for me, that our similarities are far more startling than our differences. As I listen to their accounts of addiction and recovery, may I experience often that small shock of recognition, a "hey-that's-me!" feeling that is quick to chase away my separateness. May I become a wholehearted member of the group, giving and taking in equal parts.
TODAY I WILL REMEMBER
Sameness, not differences.
