Topic: How long between meals

How long do most of you wait between meals.  My doctor's office wants me to have 4 meals/day, 1/2 cup per meal total.  I've been trying to wait 4 hours between meals.  Does that sound reasonable?  I'm 18 days post surgery.

Topic: RE: Can anyone suggest a low fat diet?

Low fat diet usually means high sugar diet.  I recommend a documentary called "That Sugar Film"

Hidden sugars in most foods make us hungry all the time.  It is a trap.  I cut all sugar from my diet and lost 30lbs since April 1st.

I eat at least 1500 calories a day, and I am not hungry between meals from all of the blood sugar fluctuation.

Topic: Problem with Dieticians

I have to deal with the dieticians in my surgeons office 3 times now.  Once before surgery, once after surgery and again in another month.  I've had to call them 2X for clarification and questions.  They are the MOST DIFFICULT people to communicate with ever!  One will beat around the bush answering my question and the other one giggles (yes she giggles) every time I try to talk to her.  It is very, very, very, difficult to communicate with the one as she will not give me a chance to finish my question.  I've tried to ask her the questions in different ways thinking it was me, but no matter how I word the question, she gives me an answer that doesn't make sense!  I've even told her directly that she's hard to communicate with and is not answering my questions so then she argues with me.

The other dietician actually giggles with every thing I say.  Drives me crazy.  It's so frustrating.

Topic: Sugar

I am a sugar addict.  There I admitted it.  It is what got me into trouble in the first place.  And it almost got me into trouble again.

Thankfully I came across a documentary called "That Sugar Film"  Now I understand how sugar affects me and why I am always hungry when I eat foods with sugar in them.  It is available on Amazon Prime if you have that.

My gastric bypass was on 9-1-2011 I dropped 160lbs.  Earlier this year I had gained 35lbs back.  April 1st I cut all sugar from my diet and I lost 30lbs so far.

I just wanted to share if anyone else is looking for a way to get back on track.

Topic: RE: What keeps you full/satisfied?

Protein and fat keep me full for hours. I add veggies if I have room. Just protein doesn't do it and carbs, sugar, and processed food make me want to eat all day. I feel best doing 16/8 intermittent fasting (no breakfast, I'm not hungry and the research shows you don't need it) combine with low carb, moderate protein and fiber, high fat. I had some regain at five years and am losing it with this approach at almost the same rate as when I first had the sleeve.

Topic: RE: Need to get back on the wagon.. so lost.

I gained 20 after getting on new birth control and letting my cravings go out of control. I basically did protein powder and egg for the week with lots of salad/cukes. Sf jello to curb cravings.

It definitely works and has helped the scale move into the right direction
