Today I had about 6 small bites of scramble egg with cheese and maybe 1/2 tsp of yogurt for breakfast  that's all I can eat. Lunch about 4 quarter size  chicken bites.  I just don't feel like this is enough... Nutritionist say just add healthy fats but if I can't get the food in how can I stop loosing weight! Protein shakes are nasty and I can't drink them, trying protein bars in afternoon but with trying to drink and also add protein I can't spend all day eating... I have to work too!!!  Frustrating to say the least I try not to cheat.

Have you spoken with your surgeon regarding struggling to eat without throwing up?

Are you currently measuring and weighing what you eat?

Can you post what and how much you are eating in a day?

Some of the vets here will be able to chime in and help you out if they know what your current daily menu looks like.

Has anyone been lacking energy during their pre op or recover? I have been trying a few things and just curious what others have been doing in order to regain energy

Have you heard of thrive?  Their shakes are good and no only do they provide you with the nutrition you need but also help with energy that might help with motivation?

Topic: RE: Premier Protein Problems

I'm 2 months post op and was in the same situation. What I started doing was cutting them in 1/2 with a unsweetened Coconut milk, some fruit, and a scoop of the unflavored Whey protein powder. To keep the sugar low but add flavor, I use strawberries or blueberries with the vanilla shakes and the PB2 w/ the chocolate shake and ice...they are tasty and change the taste/consistency of the Premier Shakes. I basically use the Premier Shakes as a base, and add things to it.

(Tip: Buy a Magic Bullet mini. It's the perfect size so you don't end up with left over shake and they are super easy to clean. I use mine everyday. )

Topic: RE: When and how do you take your vitamins?

I don't have an answer for this, but I have the same question. I have my final pre-op nutritionist appointment today and plan to ask. I'll let you know what she says.

Edited: So here's what she said. The surgeon at my office doesn't make reference to vitamins on the paperwork because every patient is different. Also, needs may change over time, so vitamin intake will change. She told me that he'll discuss all of that at my pre-op appointment next week, so I can ask him about what kind of schedule he wants me on.

She said as long as I don't take my iron and calcium together, and try to take any and all vitamins with food, I shouldn't have to worry about it.

Topic: calorie intake at 11 weeks post op VSG

I was just curious what most peoples calorie intake was around this time?

Im not sure if calorie is even important.

I consume plenty of protein throughout the day and lots of water. my protein is mostly my premier protein shakes... I just cant seem to consume enough of solid proteins without being ill.

about three weeks ago I think I was consuming an average of 600 calories a day thereabouts and today when I totaled out my intake (its been awhile since I logged my food) I came in at 800 calories......

am I consuming too much?

my sugars were almost at 30g. and my protein is at 75+....  I avoid starchy foods, and bread/grains/carbs......

Just curious to see where others are at?
