Hello Everyone! When you are planning your meals for the day what are the numbers you aim for?
What stage are you at in your journey?
Thanks for sharing!
I can't stand protein shakes and I can't afford Isopure. I'm 5 years out from my gastric bypass and I've lost my brain. I don't remember a thing of what I was taught. I'm on a mechanical soft diet because I'm having a tough time digesting. I even had an EGD done yesterday and it was normal, but they recommended that I stay on a mechanical soft diet. Go figure! So I need ideas of what to make for soft food that are tasty. All I can wrap my head around are refried beans w/green chili and cheese, cottage cheese, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, cheese sticks, and pasta w/milk and butter and spices (my Mom calls them Butter Noodles- I won't make a habit out of them, but since I lost too much weight, they won't kill me.)
Any idea'ers? I'd sure welcome them!!

Divide your meal to small portions. Use small plate while serving yourself, then even if you eat number of times a day this wont affect your calorie count.
Sure you can eat them... but if you aim for the protein in/on a salad you don't have a lot of lettuce room left so I don't make a lot of lettuce based salads. I use cucumbers as my crackers love those: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2011/07/cucum ber-crackers.html
I wasn't able to drink my protein drinks until I was about a week post op because they made me super nauseous. After that, I was able to drink them but I had to drink them really slow; It took me about an hour and a half to drink 8 oz. I was told that early out, you should focus more on your water intake and worry less about your protein. It will get easier to get your protein in when your stomach is a bit more healed and the nausea and gurgling subsides.

It was medically supervised because I was waiting for aproval for a gastric sleeve. I'm approved now and getting that at the end of March but it's the same problem I have always had. Everyone I know says eat 1200 calories or less a day and you will loose like crazy. I do not loose. I have always had trouble here has to be a lot more to it than eat less calories.
You have very little room for food, why waste it on something with no protein?

Hi Judeloren! This is Logical Remedies. I was scrolling through some posts and came across yours. I just wanted to ask why your diet has to be medically supervised? (Sorry, i don't know much about lapbands or your condition). I'm a Weight Loss Technician and a Personal Awareness Motivator. I have turned lives around very easily by giving people a different way to look at things. If you're losing 2 lbs a month you don't know the full potential of your body...and neither does your doctor. Your diet will become drastically more successful once you start to think differently. Yes, stopping pop would be a good start. If you still need help please let me know. Have a glorious, logical day!
P.S. Don't feel frustrated. It will slow down your progress.
