A lot of bandsters see him for their follow up and they all love him. They say he is very supportive of WLS but have no idea if he is biased to some of them over others. I recently met him and he is a wonderful guy that really seems to have his patients best interest at heart. I was at a bandster function when I met him so of course we never discussed anything but lapband but he truly seems interested in helping anyone with a weight problem.
Hi Julie,
Dr Bishop is a wonderful supportive doctor for WLS. I intially went to him asking about RNY then soon changed to DS. He didnt seem very happy that I had changed my mind from RNY, but he supported me once he saw how serious I was and that I wouldnt change my mind. He had only had one person prior to me who had went for the DS, but she/he only had the vsg done and was satisfied, so they didnt get the whole procedure. Dr B, sent me for testing to help prove my case to OHIP and he filled out the forms and faxed them for me.
I wouldnt hesitate to contact him. :)
