Any new appointments to meet surgeons in Guelph Lately?

Hi Laura, My first appt.'s in Guelph were in Dec/10. Back then they told me April- May surgery...In Feb. they said not until June...in April they said maybe July due to the influx of Windsor patients.

You've just talked to Linda this week?  Darn!  Was hoping to hear that things were moving along  :(

What does kill us makes us stronger I guess  :)

Thanks everyone!  Just hoping to get some new news!  Impatient as always and want to get moving on this!  If anyone does get a date, please post so all of us starving for news can hear ok?  Everytime I talk to someone it is pushed back longer.  I figure one of these times its bound to be good news right?

Hi..I am having mine in Guelph too.

My info class was july /2010...meetings with nurses and such first one was Oct/2010, Feb/2011 there were other tests and such in between and finally my surgery is this Monday..YIKES!!   It seems like forever  but remember this is a chance of a lifetime and it's sooo worth the wait..!!!

My orientation was the month after yours, and I haven't gotten the call to meet the surgeon yet.  I think I will have a delay AFTER I meet them too because apparently I have a twisty throat that may need to be fixed first.  The suspense is killing me and I'm terribly impatient.  I know it will happen eventually though.

I was just OK'd for WLS by Dr. Shaban this week, so I guess the seminar and surgeon consult is next. I was told that there is about a 5 month wait for Guelph now, as Dawn mentioned, because they are being over-whelmed. For my own reasons, I'm still going to wait for Guelph rather than go to Toronto.

I was refered last summer. 
Orientation in Nov
Did all the bloodwork, ultrasound, Upper GI, (did not need to do the Sleep Clinic since it was less than a year old since my last test).
Met the RN, SW and Dietician Mar 1 and 9 with no follow up requried.  I was told at that time that I would get into the next "Surgery Class", in June. 
The appointment to meet the Surgeon was about 6 months out.
After meeting the Surgeon it would take about 4 - 6 weeks for the actual surgery.
= Sept before I meet the Surgeon = Oct before Surgery
The RN (Audrey) told me this is because the fiscal year ended in March and that the ORs were being booked for other surgeries.  Where there were 4? surgeries in Dec. there were only 16 scheduled in April.
