NSV & Question
I've had a couple NSVs in the last couple weeks. First, I went with my DH, 2 DS & FIL to the Sens - Oilers game (A Christmas gift to my FIL), the seats I were in were bought after the first 3, and were one row from the top. I had to go up and down the stairs 3 or 4 times as my Son would want something. And I was able to do it without stopping on the way up. Not even at the landing. Don't think it would have been possible Pre-WLS.
Last weekend, GT was having a sale on their Clearance clothes, as I was going through the rack, I said a new phrase "No, it's too big". Not used to saying that when shopping. Which leads me to my next NSV, I have now said good bye to the 4s, I'm in a 38, good bye 40s, 42s, 44s, etc. Soon I'll be in my DH's 36s
(Well, as soon as I can replace them).
Now for the salad recipe question, it's one that I did pre-WLS, but was wondering what others thought of it for post WLS, haven't tried it yet.
Ingrediants:
1 500g container fat free cottage cheese, drained
1 19 oz can of pineapple, crushed or tidbits, drained
1 pkg SF Jello powder
1 lg container of light cool whip
Mix all together and refrigerate until set.
Thanks for listening,
Cathy
That salad sounds wonderful and I'd love to try it. My only concerns would be:
1. Pineapple might be hard to digest for some and it is a "sweet" fruit.
2. How much sugar is in the Cool Whip?
I hope someone more savvy will comment because it definitly sounds like something I'd like to try down the road. As it stands right now, I'm a dumper and I'd be worried about the sugar content.
I make it with SF jello jello, and I tend to make it with a pink flavor, either strawberry, or raspberry (not a cherry fan, but it could be used too). Some do use fruit salad instead of the pinapple. Not sure about the sugar content in the cool whip, but someone suggested it in a recipe for Sex In A Pan.
