When do I get my first post-op bloodwork done at TWH?

On Friday I have an appointment with the social worker & nutritionist, and at the very end of the month my very overdue 1 month follow-up with Surgeon, that is more than 2 months after my surgery. I was just wondering when do they do my bloodwork & check my vitamin levels? I can't really see the Social worker or Nutritionist taking a blood sample. Did TWH screw up and forget to book me a follow
Up with the nurse practitioner? Or can this bloodwork be requested from my family doctor instead?

At HRRH the dietitian sends me with a requisition to the lab for bloodwork. I go after my appointment with her, then she calls me if there's anything wrong with it. I imagine it might happen the same at TWH.

Btw, sooo excited to meet you friday!!!

Me too Monica! I have a bazillion errands to do today, but when I get home later I am going to figure out where we can meet.

Hi Toni,

I was just there on Friday and the dietician gave me the requisition for my 3 month follow-up for all of my bloodwork and vitamin levels. She dated the requisition for sometime in April.....ideally they are looking for 2 weeks before you come back for your 3 month check-up.

I was also given my blood reco at my 1 month appt to be completed for the 3 month.

Katie, Lorraine or Mary will give you the requisition for your bloodwork.

My Dr keeps it at the top of my file and she checks my levels frequently by what TWH has marked off. Sometimes she checks other things as well.

BELOW GOAL Happily maintaining 4.5 years out!! Life is GREAT!!! Had my plastic surgery!

At WHY your first blood work is done at 3 months. Katie gve me my req. at my 1 month appointment to have it done 2 weeks before my 3 month follow up. That way they review it with you at your appointment. They will give you a copy to if you want. They will give you another req at you 1 month for your 6 month.

You get your blood work done at a local lab. Much better than waiting at the hospital,

Don't worry you didnt missi anything. At TWH they only want it at 3 month.
