OT - near tears...
Hi everyone, I have been so busy for the last couple of days I feel like I've run a marathon.
My aunt is having some health problems and has needed to go to the hospital Wednesday and than again at 4:30AM Thursday morning. And I took her because she doesn't have a car. Well she is on a limited income and the parking is $16. She is to get home care but has to go back again today because the vain blew and they can't seem to get another one. Her daughter is able to take her today and I will probably pick her up.
But she is on an i.v. antibiotic and needs to come back every 12 hours to get another dose, but she does get home care but the vain will blow out and they haven't arranged for her to get a pick.
I am exhausted and knowing she is in pain and so tired and frustrated it makes me feel so helpless.
Yesterday was my one month surgery date, woo hoo. Maybe this is why it has drained me so much, I'm not sure. :(
I don't know how much more I can do, but she needs the help and support. I love her to pieces and it hurts to see someone in so much pain.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Hi Brenda I will keep your aunt in my thoughts and prayers today. It can be really exhausting advocating for our sick and aging relatives. The homecare nurses will likely have to push for the pick. Homecare nurses are wonderful and can give you pointers on what and how to request what your aunt needs. If you or her daughter could be present when visiting RN comes you could take a moment to chat. I have had visiting RN for 3 months for a post op wound infection. (not WLS related) Visit nurses rock! Best health care ever!

Hi Brenda
Wow, that is tough. Too bad about the vein. Home care is so much easier.
Rest when you can. Cry if you need to, sometimes that helps
Hugs
Keep posting to update us, feel better. Hope your Aunt is feeling better too
ETA: after surgery hormones are a bit crazy. I know for me the least little thing sent me to tears. Take care of yourself

Aw Brenda - I'm so sorry about your aunt! Hopefully they will be able to make her feel better soon. Thank goodness that she has you to help her out - I'm sure she really appreciates it!
Congratulations on being one month post-surgery! I was one month on Monday - isn't it amazing to realize where we were just a month ago? Hope that things are getting easier for you and that everything is healing well.
