Appendicitis puts me into Triple Digit Weight Loss

 June 29 started to feel really crappy with terrible pains in my belly, dry heaves, nausea.  I thought for sure it was just that I was backed up and full of gas.  I was up all night in pain and Saturday morning when to hospital.  Being a long weekend it was not very busy but I didn't see a doctor until Sunday.  On Sunday I told them about my RNY and how I was down 95 lbs and the surgeon agreed it might be gallbladder.  Had CT on Monday, ultrasound on Tuesday and it was discovered it was my appendix.  It was a bit inflammed.

So I had it out on Wednesday afternoon.  Got out of the hospital on Thursday afternoon and feeling better but still full of gas as procedure was done laperscopically.  So now I have 10 holes in me.  But while in the hospital for 6 days I was on nothing but IV fluids and I was thinking that this should put me over the 100 lbs lost mark.

I was right.  Did a weigh in this morning and offically at 103 lbs lost since start of Opti-fast Jan 15.  Life is good.  Can't wait to have my gallbladder removed...LOL.. I told the surgeon I will put him on speed dial.

I guess I should hope for a surgery like that too to just get the few pounds that I want off.
It's good they figured out what was wrong though.

Thrilled that you made it to 100 lbs lost (but wi**** didn't have to involve another surgery *lol*)

I hope you recover quickly and can reach your next milestone without surgical intervention!

 Glad you're feeling better!  I had my gallbladder out three weeks after my rny, so I hear ya when you say you're full of holes!  I guess that makes us holy!  LOL  Regards, Ian
