My fixer upper surgery is this Friday
Really freaking out now. Surgery to fix my RNY connection from the blind stomach to the intestine (intussusception site), hernia repair, exploratory bowel surgery to free up adhesions and remove scar tissue and put the main abdominal muscle back together ....is this Friday. Booked for 3 hours. This will be open surgery.

Sorry to hear that you have to go through another surgery!
What were the symptoms that you had and how long was it from symptoms to the surgery? I would think it would be fairly short!
Orientation - April 25, 2012, Nurse - May 16, 2012, Social Worker - May 25, Dietician - May 25, 2012, Abdominal Ultrasound - June 29, 2012, Cardiologist - August 1, 2012 Pre-Surgical Education Class September 19, 2012, Meet with Surgeon September 27, 2012, PATTS November 9, 2012, Surgery Date November 16, 2012 (Dr. Mamazza)
My issues have actually been going on since early summer. The problem is that I get these episodes of severe abdominal pain that can last up to a day and then it goes away for a while. Really puzzling for me and all of the doctors I have seen. I have had every test under the sun I think. It wasn't until they actually caught the Intussusception on CT that they knew what was actually happening. It is getting caught and then releasing after a while. The worry was that it would get caught and not release again one of these times resulting in a true obstruction and emergency surgery. Once the issues was identified for sure it was one month from that time until surgery with the understanding if I had another episode they would do the surgery right away.
