Soup vs drinking with meal??

There's nothing wrong with soup, it depends what kind is all. I make homemade soup all the time and it has more meat and veggies in it than broth so the bit of broth that is in it, you can either drink it first or just leave it in the bowl. Many eat soup because they are early out and those people are adding protein powder to get protein in since they may still be on liquids or pureed or simply cannot eat enough protein to meet the intake amount. I don't consider soup the consistency of apple sauce to be thick at all, that will just slide right through. Once you are on solids, you want to eat soup that is more stew like so lots of solid stuff to keep you full.
I am 10 months out and foolishly thought I could eat a banana about 10 minutes after having a large deaf tea. Hurt like a SOB! Had to lay down. Kept hurting. Thought I would throw up. didn't. Pain lasted for about 1/2 hour.
I eat soup - but it's pureed soup, not soup with solid food in it. If I have soup as an appetizer, I get full from it and can't eat my protein. So I don't do that.
