Because I am diabetic (well controlled with diet and exercise in the normal range) I have my bloodwork done every 3 months. My GP signs the requisition for blood, checks off the tests he wants and tells me to fill in whatever my Bariatric Clinic wants. I add a few that the forum recommends. Talk to your GP about your symptoms and ask if you can have your bloodwork done more frequently, and tell them about trying to keep on top of vitamin and mineral deficiencies before they become a real problem. Hope this helps.

The last time I had my bloodwork was in October at my 1 year check up. When are we supposed to go in next? 18 months? 2 years? I'm at Humber River. How often do you get it done? What's the recommendation? Darn. I should be on top of this.

How often are you getting blood work?
If you overate, take frequent very very tiny sips of water to try to flush some of the excess food out of your pouch. That can be very painful. Also try laying on your side, which may help. Sitting up may be too much pressure on the pouch.

Join us anytime Lexxi. Before BirdieGirl, KarenM posted, as did PatM, Tonya. I learned so much from these wonderful vets who so generously and gently guided me on the straight and narrow. Well, as much as they could. I do have a wild side.
I am one of the posters that never told family or friends about my surgery, so having a place to talk with others about my concerns, questions, *****fests, is very welcome for me. I try not to be judgmental, I preach my experience, and try to encourage. We are all in this for a better life. It's better to help than hinder.

I've posted about memory loss and someone mentioned not to trust the docs so... I doubled my multivitamin. I'm taking 2 Materna a day and I feel soooooo much better. However, today I doubled my calories and had a crazy binge. So much so that I had sharp pains in my sides. So yes, the title is deceiving but bloody hell I am SCREWEDDDDDDD.

In My OPINION .. he is amazing!! check out his website! https://www.drkreidstein.com/ he got rid of my c-section scar (mine was vertical) and gave me a new belly button!! i had no complications whatsoever!! and had to stay overnight because of the drive to hamilton from scarborough... good luck!!
My Humber orientation was Nov 9th and I got a call with my appointments Feb 9th -exactly 3 months later.
I got all 3 trio appointments within Feb because I was willing to split them up.
Dr. Glazer sent me for a sleep study and I have found out that I needed a machine.
Surgery scheduled for June 17 th!!
If I were you, I would wait the 12 weeks - call if you don't hear anything by then.
Hang in there. Hugs. I waited 18 months from referral to surgery.
