OT: intelligence violated
Have you ever come to the point in your life when you feel that your intelligence has been violated? That you are made to feel a fool? That's happened to me today and boy am I not happy about that....
I do hope that the person/people that are doing it realize that not all of us are that stupid.
sigh..........

Hi Darlene,
Nope, never let other people make me feel like a fool or question my intelligence.
Learned at a very young age to not tolerate that behavior (got that **** from my step-father)
My pat remark to said people always goes like this: "Are you tearing me down to build your-self up or what"?...then remark to them "Mean people Suck"...the older I get the more I confront jerks. Actually I love getting older, we are wiser, and yes we can be nice about it when we confront others. Nicer gets you in a better place faster, without drama.
Even my step-daughters have commented on how I treat people. They are learning from me.
So gang, never ever let someone think you are stupid.
Another thing I learned from a man I worked with, he was a Colonel in the Air Force, was in Vietnam and flew the Worthogs, I think it was the A-10's...not sure but I totally love this man and learned a lot from him. He taught me the "stare down"...just stare at them with piercing eyes and not say a word. Eeeewwwweee....totally makes people uncomfortable. This man also taught me that I didn't have to go see my step-father (especially after my mom died) and not to feel guilty about it. Yep, I have learned a lot from my mentor!

Ive noticed that theres a lot of people here on OH that enjoys putting others down over the most rediculous things...Such as, if you type without using the right amount of paragraphs to suit them then they make a big deal over it...or, if you don't use the correct punctuation, or don't spell words correctly, they chastize the person...I really hate it when someone ask a serious question, asking for help, needing answers, and then they are told to either Google it, or they make fun of said persons question...What goes with this? The name calling has gotten bad also...I will probably get chastized for voicing my opinion, but thats okay because I have thick shoulders...I thought we are here to learn, to give and to get support, to help those that we can...Not to redicule them and put them down...
Am sorry that someone was mean to you....You are not stupid, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise...
Hugs

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only TRUE FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart...And may that friendship have such a ONENESS that when one weeps the other will taste salt...Friends are like balloons ; once you let them go you can't get them back....So I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.
