Topic: Atlanta surgeon rec?

Hi Yall,

I did a DS in 2009 (over 700) and have been living at 180-200 range since then. I have some mens issues that are complex, so I am guessing I would need a plastic surgeon and like someone that specializes in gender reassignment stuff to make sure my ehhh little hobbit comes out in one piece and working fully! Any men that lost more than 300/400 have any insights? Thanks!

Chris

How accurate was the hospital portion of your surgical estimate? Just wondering how likely I'll need to come up with more money than expected. I appreciate any information you may have!

Some doctors don't take care credit. Mine doesn't and I have care credit. Looking for other options.

Topic: RE: Mammogram after BL???

I had a Brest lift and implants in 2009 and have only had to get one ultrasound about 3 years ago. I had developed a cyst. After a lift you have a regular mammogram if you decide to have implants too then they do 2 mammograms. 1 with both implant and tissue and one with just tissue. I can't say it will or won't hurt because it all depends on the lady doing it. But most time it doesn't hurt.

It likely just means you'll need an ultrasound with your mammogram. Or a diagnostic mammogram. Not biopsies every year.

Oh, wow, I hadn't heard that before. I wonder if that translates into having biopsies and such each year. ?

I have had several since my BL. It was not painful and there is no way it would stretch it out.

I had to get a follow-up ultrasound following the first few post bl. This past year I had a 2D/3D combo mammogram and did not have to have an ultrasound. I plan on getting another 2D/3D one this year.

I haven't had one yet. I'm only 35 and have no elevated risk factors. But, my PS told me that it was likely they would always be abnormal going forward and I'd need follow up for that.

just had one last week and surprisingly, it wasn't painful. only thing is . . . the mammogram after bl will be your new baseline. received a call today that i must go back for an ultrasound on my left breast (but sis assured me . . .she does ultrasounds . . .not to worry as it's probably scar tissue that appears like a possible abnormality). i'm scheduled to have that done on october 12th.

oh, and was so nice to feel comfy disrobing and not having the previously long mamms .

Has anyone here had a mammogram after breast lift? I love that my floppy deflated breasts make my annual mammogram a piece of cake, but what's it going to be like after surgery when my girls are nice and tight??? Will it hurt? Will it stretch them out? Looking for anyones experience in this area!
