Trying to schedule mine right now and my insurance approved it first time out and I think that was because a) I had a ton of documentation and b) my surgeons office knows how to code correctly.

I see a lot of questions about this topic, and how to get insurance to pay.
The key is a matter of semantics and coding.
Thighplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure that tightens skin and underlying muscle. Most insurance will not pay for it. What I had, skin excision is a procedure to remove excess/redundant skin. In my case, it was paid for because of the constant skin infections and other issues.
Different procedures, different codes.
Thank you so much for your feedback on your experience. Easier than RnY? what kind of anesthesia did they use? Everywhere I have seen it's an outpatient surgery, so it's awesome you got the extra care (maybe insurance just has you stay overnight vs. cash pay)
Well, what a way for Anthem to be clear on how they instruct you to handle things! I'm sorry things have hit a (minor) stall... hopefully you get your surgery soon and things heal well, regardless of who performs it
Thank you so much. Im thrilled with my results.

It goes a little further around and my surgeon doesn't do the Fleur, he uses lipo and his own technique to get the same results without the extra scaring. Also my recliner is a standard manual recliner.

Extended Tummy Tuck... how does that differ from a standard? Do the scars go further around your hips? Different from a Fleur-de-Lis?
Was your recliner an electronic/motorized or the standard, pull the lever and push down with your legs?
