I had an extended abdominoplasty in May and have been doing specific ab work since July. I find that I can include hard ab work 2 days a week but if I do more than 3, I get serious cramps. I haven't done yoga since PS so I'm not specifically sure about that.

Oh I definitely sometimes do. It comes as a surprise...a few minutes into intense ab work on the mat. And I think I am about 3.5 years post LBL. That being said, even with a little regain, my stomach muscles remain defined so I think he just does really good work :)

Hi Nani,
Rarely does insurance pay for plastic surgery unless you have a hernia and the surgeons will go ahead and to the Panni. Also, as others have mentioned if you can show documentation of long term issues that is affecting your health they may reconsider, but only the areas that are deemed medical necessary. I feel my plastic surgery was just as key for me staying at goal as the weight loss surgery. It makes me sad we can't get some help from insurance.
That being said don't give up. There is financing available if that is an option for you. If you are having medical issued due to the excess skin, take photos. They are very powerful evidence to get your case heard and approved.
I will send you some surgeons in the area you mentioned.
Keep us posted on how you are doing and how we can help

I don't have exactly what you are describing but at times depending on how I move I can get a huge charlie horse in my abs. Boy does that hurt and it's hard to stretch to get rid of it. I goes away within a minute and doesn't come back for a long time but it's not pleasant.
Congratulations and how exciting! I lost over 200 pounds and looked like the incredible melting woman it was really bad! I went to 3 different plastic surgeons before finding the right one. Get several free consults if you can. I ended up having 3 major surgeries 3 months apart. Once you hit goal and you know you are starting plastics, up your protein and work out like crazy. The less body fat the more skin and you will get fabulous results.

I do not have any pain/tightening when using my abdominal muscles. I think I did the first 6 months, but none after.
I will say my buttock auto-augmentation area still hurts when I do exercises on my back, without a big cushion under my butt.

Hi all!
So I'm about 1.5 years post-LBL. Mine included muscle tightening. I find that I still have muscle pain/tightness when using my abdominal muscles. For me, that's primarily when I'm stretching or doing pilates.
Have you experienced this? Did it subside eventually?
I haven't really read anyone talking about this and I wonder if it's because people don't want to be perceived as complaining about their reconstructive surgeries.

I was going to do the breasts but saw so many of them done I wasn't really that happy with what I saw, didn't want to lose sensations and plus when I gained back some weight, my breasts looked better.
If I could do more now I would do thighs....not sure I would do breast even now and I don't really wear sleeveless so arms not an issues. And there are scars by the way.....and it is hard for the body. I would talk to your doctor but also think about what areas bother you the most.
I honestly felt like I looked liked melted wax....and was so happy to have the work done when I did it.
Best of luck to you on the journey!
PS- I also think that there is a point where you deal with being as healthy as you can be and work on self love and acceptance....are bodies are so important and the freedom from being healthy opens up so much in life....but there will still be hard times and problems and they will not be fixed by surgery or weight loss.
