still cant hold more than 2 bites of food

I had surgery march 22, i am still unable to hold 2 oz of food, i chew my food very well but i get so full after 2 or 3 bites, i gets so angry i havent seen the bottom of a plate since i had this surgery, i have lost 85 lbs and very happy with the out come but i would love to sit down and eat 4 or 5 bites not 2 or 3 bites, then i wait 45min, and eat 2 or 3 more bites until im full. oh dont let me force that 4th bite, upchuck yup it all comes up and im back to the drawing board.....I am wandering is anybody else having the problem and is this normal and when will i be able to eat more....maybe im wishful thinking and should count my blessing that im having less food and more weight loss but i eat 3 meals a day with 2 snacks inbetween, but can only hold a few bites.

No, that is NOT normal.  Even just a week after surgery, you should be able to eat more than 2 bites of food.   If that is all you are getting, and HAVE BEEN getting for four months, you are not getting NEARLY enough nutrition and are putting your health at  serious risk. Please contact your surgeon.

I had surgery the same day as you and up until a few days ago I was living on 2 shakes a day mixed with 8 ounces of milk. I have added in a couple of yogurts and a little cottage cheese and fruit but I am pretty satisfied. I can do at least a 1/2 cup at a time tho. I just have to eat it slowly and chew well or I get full easy too. I haven't lost quite as much as you have but I have lost about 63 lbs. Good luck to you.

Contact your doctor. That doesn't sound right.

You should REALLY call your doctor. I had to go in yesterday because I had a stricture. They had widen where it it was narrowing.

Thanks everyone for your responce....i spoke with my surgeon he said to eat slower and take small bites and chew, chew,chew....well thats what i been doing and still not eating alot of food at one setting, i do go back after 30 min or so and continue eating, but i can only eat a little bit at a time...and no stricture i have had about 4 EGD's with balloon dialation since i had this surgery and was open to 15cc, food is going down great just not getting enough in and im also drinking 2 protein shacks a day....
